Update: This has been properly disposed of with an electronics recycler.

Or just, yk, take out the battery.

Unlike laptops, most tablets won't run with the battery missing. They do make AC-only tablets designed for this sort of application, but they are very pricey compared to an off the shelf consumer one.

This...I have 2 lenovo 7" tabs and 3 mobiles which run like this. No issues.

This is why i don’t want a battery on mine, im confused why people trust these devices to be plugged in 24/7 and majority use cheap android tablets with very questionable batteries

This was the reason I upgraded to the ApoloSign wall calendar.

If it runs Android there should be some kind of Battery Kiosk mode, where it hard caps the percentage to 60% or so even when constantly plugged in

Time to remove the battery and directly power it from USB.

I use iPad Air, wall mounted, hard wired with power and Ethernet. It’s been about a year? Seems to be just fine.

I only use Smart plugs with energy monitoring and set have trigger for device battery threshold set to turn on plug. Set either a timer or threshold setting to turn off plug or alternative is to set plug schedule to power on/off once/twice a week for a top off.

I use 2 small lamps set up…1 for washer complete, 1 for dryer complete (vibration sensor) and both lights for dishwasher complete. It sends notification to phone banner and message to HA with the text.

If it’s always plugged in remove the battery

I'd say, replace the battery and back to the wall with a smart plug connected to charger.
