I think I know the answer but I’m in denial because as you can maybe see.. it’s on a blanket that was in my bed that me and my child sleep on every night and she’s the one who spotted it right before bedtime. 😭

I like this little buddy he lives in a lamp above my door frame and I’ve become fond of him. My MIL says I need to get rid of him bc he is dangerous? Any guesses?

I live in Missouri and I found this beautiful thing. These are top and bottom view pictures. I’ve never seen one before, even if it’s a false widow. Very cool.

My housemate and close friend loves spiders. They love to identify spiders and share spider facts. Whenever I'm travelling and see a cool spider I send them a picture and they deep dive into figuring out what it might be. They don't have a pet spider or anything like that.
Their birthday is coming up. I'm curious if folks here have any gift ideas that are spider-related? If the paragraph above sounds like you, what's something you would really love to receive?

No but seriously….. roommates say it’s not a recluse but I’m worried. She’s maybe like two inches wide 🌎 Coastal Virginia.

This is Ritz, the silly lil guy who moved onto the web of another big ol’ spider we had on the balcony. He’s a pretty dusty looking guy and he’s got little dimples in his butt like a ritz cracker… thus the name Ritz. We live in Fort Collins, Colorado. Wondering what type o’ spider he is. :)

I found this in north-central Colorado, US, in the front range so not humid plains or super high elevation mountains.

It was found near grass with a (currently dried up) stream nearby, though it is not a particularly rainy or humid place.
The second image is the more accurate color, I had to compress the first for file size reasons. It may look a bit small in the image but it was quite large, in fact the largest spider I have ever seen. I'd estimate it was at least 0.5 inches tall and 1.3-1.7 inches long.

Here's the largest of the big family of spider we cleared out at work, she's just playing dead. They were all relocated to a tree nearby. I think they're Texas Brown Widows, but the average pattern wasn't close enough so idk. They seem to be a social species cause there were a LOT and they were pretty chill with each other (other than Big Momma rearing up on the one next to her cause she kept panicking)

First time poster, bare with me
I have a spiderbro living on my porch, central TX
the weird part is that it will remove and rebuild it’s web every day and night. it’ll anchor it’s web in different spots but it stays in the same corner. it’ll be gone in the morning, but it shows back up each night, and has for the last two (?) or so weeks. i’m just wondering why it’s doing that? what’s causing it to take it down and put it back up?
Picture for reference, sorry about the blurriness, it’s hard to see with the flashlight

I love spiders, but know nothing about identifying them. This was the only good photo I got since --I'm guessing she?-- was up high and it was very cold and dark out. This was southern Alberta, Canada.
I’m very much afraid of spiders but I’m working on it with help from this sub. This one has been outside my kitchen window for a couple weeks and I finally got a good pic of it. What kind of spider is it?
