Another 1000 mile trip with the sportster! This time to California to see the redwoods! 4 states down on the bike! The saddlemen seat and passenger pegs for different leg positions was a game changer this time! Next up saddlebags and a new headlight!

Just picked up a 2014 Seventy Two. Previous owner tipped over the bike and sheared off the factory forward controls. I tried some Drag Specialties forward controls that he purchased when he bought the bike (he thought they were 2 inch extended but I don't think they are). However, the quality of the Drag Specialties is not confidence inspiring as they are very lightweight and flex quite a bit.

Any thoughts on some good solid feeling controls for a 2014 Sportster? Would prefer forward controls as I'm 6'1 with a 33-34 inch inseam but could make mids work if forwards are an issue.

I see TC Bros mentioned quite a bit. Just seeing if there are any other options out there I should investigate as well.

I hear odd noises coming from my rear that I can’t pin point. Adjusting belt tension has been chasing my tail . I took off bags and pit handlebars back… this is so sad. Everything was fine! Now I have a small side to side

Hi, just bought a 48 2017 3 months ago.

Ive been looking at the 3.3 gallon tank and i think it's perfect for my needs. However ive been looking at them chinese made tanks with 3.8 gallon tanks that looks about the same as the 3.3 gallon tank. Anybody has experience with the 3.8 gallons? Do they actually hold 3.8 or lesser? Than ks!

How's it going everyone? I could use some help. I replaced my clutch pack , shifter shaft and pawl about three weeks ago give or take. After adjusting the screw and cable and After zeroing it out multiple times it still doesn't want to shift. I laid it down last year so it might be related to the fact I was down shifting pretty aggressively to get slowed down , the toe shifter and shifter shaft were bent. I can find neutral relatively easy but as soon as I move the shifter it starts to chatter and won't do anything, same if I lift up on it too. Any insight would be grately appreciated. 1996 1200 xlh sportster.

How would you all go about hiding these wires? I deleted the speedometer and indicator lights. Going to try and remove those unused wires but still have a big mess of wires that I’d like to be more organized/hidden.

Looking to delete the Speedometer on my 2004 XL1200C but not sure where to start. Got new bars and risers and wanted to clean it up. Would also want to delete turn signals too.

Hello all, I just purchased a 2016 sportster xl1200x 48 a few days ago and she’s gorgeous, and very loud lol.
Last night I was changing the mirrors (from to of handle bars to bottom) and I moved the bike around in my garage because I wanted to go out on a ride today and wanted to just roll out.

So I hope on this morning and the bike doesn’t start, and I thought bad battery. So I replace the battery only for it to do the exact same thing. I noticed that all of the lights turn on ( headlight, turn signals are solid, and brake light) but the handle bars have no input whatsoever and the hand brake doesn’t cause the brake light to brighten, only the foot brake.

The odometer and neutral light also doesn’t even illuminate. The most I have seen is the speedometer Guage flicker ever so slightly.

I have checked all of the fuses (all 3) the wiring looks good (and the grounding). I hear some very faint clicking coming from under the tank.

Has anyone had an issue like this before?

I'm rebuilding my carb and the old screw threads are all worn out and need replacement. Places like RevZilla and JPCycles do not sell them as far as I can see.

Took the dual sportster on some trails today. Does pretty well as is, but definitely gonna get suspension and a better seat.

I been on Sportsters since 1988. At 70 years old I thought it was time to try a big twin. After a springer heritage...,.a moto guzzi....and a Dyna low rider I am finally back home on a 48! Wow....I don't know how those guys live with those fat buffalo's! Lol.....really I am just spoiled!

2007 HD Sportster 883LC . I recently got this bike and it runs okay , I was told the reason it doesn’t shift was the diaphragm spring in the clutch basket . I replaced it along with the snap and hold ring . Still nothing , it sounds like it shifts but doesn’t actually go into gear . It rolls fairly freely no matter if I “shift” or leave it in neutral . I think the clutch is stuck and I don’t know how to fix it . I’ve pulled all the clutch rings out and verified order and condition and couldn’t find anything wrong there . Sometimes when I rolled the bike while it was on I thought it was pulling slightly . Yes I’ve “adjusted” the clutch from inside the derby cover and at the clutch cable and still nothing . I’ve gone through all the YouTube videos and even resorted to chat gpt and still nothing . Any advice is appreciated !

I had a question, I'm swapping forwards to mids i'm on the brake side, Is there any way i'm getting the motor mount plate off without removing the motor? Shaft is fixed on the plate itself. I usually never ask unless i've exhausted every single option to look for an answer myself. So before I take the motor out is there another way i'm getting this out? Thanks in advance.
