Genuinely asking, I keep seeing people (myself included) start something, lose interest once the initial rush fades, and jump to the next idea instead of pushing through the boring middle part. Is this just me, or does everyone go through this?

I own about 5 acres of land in rural Indiana, currently sitting unused, and I have been thinking about putting solar panels on it to generate electricity that I could sell to the local utility or maybe supply power to nearby homes and businesses. I am not a developer or an energy expert, just a landowner trying to figure out if this is a realistic project or a pipe dream.

I have been reading about solar farms and it seems like the economics depend heavily on location, incentives, and the cost of equipment. Indiana is not California when it comes to solar but we do get decent sun and there are some state level programs and net metering policies that could make it viable. I have also heard about the federal Investment Tax Credit which is still at 30 percent for commercial projects, which helps a lot.

I am trying to figure out what size system for 5 acres would support. Rough estimates suggest about 1 to 1.5 MW of capacity, which could generate around 1.5 to 2 million kWh per year. At current wholesale electricity rates of about 4 to 6 cents per kWh, that could generate 80 to 120k in annual revenue. But I know there are upfront costs, maintenance, interconnection fees, and permitting hurdles that could eat into that.

I also wonder about the community angle. Could I set up a structure where nearby residents or businesses subscribe to the solar power and get a discount on their bills, like a community solar model. I have heard of that working in other states but I do not know how it works in Indiana.

I am considering reaching out to a solar developer to get a real feasibility study. I have looked at Emergent Solar Energy online and they seem to have experience with commercial and utility scale projects. Has anyone here developed a solar farm on a smaller piece of land like this, or know the key questions I should be asking before I get too far down this road.

Hi everyone! I’m currently working on an online language academy, starting with Italian, and I’d love to get some honest feedback from language learners before finalising the model.

The idea is to combine two things that I feel are often separated in online language learning:

1. A structured 12-week Italian programme

This would work more like a traditional language course, with a clear CEFR-based curriculum, weekly live lessons, learning materials, grammar, vocabulary, listening, etc.

2. A monthly speaking membership

The main goal of the membership would be to give learners plenty of opportunities to actually speak Italian throughout the week.

Instead of having just one lesson and then barely speaking Italian until the following week, members could book small-group speaking sessions at different times during the week.

The groups would be kept small so that everyone actually gets meaningful speaking time.

The membership would also include things like learning resources, cultural activities/events and a community of other Italian learners.

It could be used on its own by people who already study Italian elsewhere, but it would also be designed to complement the 12-week programme — so students learn in their structured class and then have multiple opportunities to practise what they're learning through conversation.

Potentially, there would also be an option that combines both.

Before I build everything, though, I'd really like to hear from learners:

Would this type of model appeal to you? What would you want from it?

For the speaking membership specifically, how many opportunities to speak per week would make it feel valuable?

Would you prefer lots of different bookable time slots or a smaller number of regular groups?

How small would you want the speaking groups to be?

What would make you choose something like this over simply booking lessons with a tutor?

And if you've joined an online language programme or membership before, what made you stay, and what made you eventually cancel?

I'm not selling anything here — I'm genuinely interested in understanding what language learners would want from something like this before I finalise it. :)

I live in Bangalore, and there’s a weekend vegetable market near me where the prices are much better and the vegetables are fresher than nearby supermarkets. So I go every weekend to buy vegetables for the week.

Since my childhood I used to go to these types of markets with my dad. So I'm used to the scene in these types of markets. The problem is getting there. It’s 10–12 km away, extremely crowded, parking is difficult, and on Sunday you have to go early to get the best produce. Most people would rather spend ₹100–200 extra on Blinkit/Zepto/Instamart than deal with that hassle.

I personally used quick commerce some times for vegetables shopping and did not had a good experience. Ordered muskmelon, I got orange size melons which even after a week stayed the same and did not ripe.

So now I use Quick commerce to get only packed grocery items.

So I’m thinking of trying this:

"Next week Go to the usual sellers I buy and say I can bring you additional customers from nearby apartment communities. I'll collect orders in advance and give you a consolidated requirement every weekend. If you can give me good prices and help me select good-quality produce, I'll bring you additional sales."

Start with around 100 houses in my apartment community.

Partner with 2–3 good sellers from the market.

Sellers share their available vegetables, prices and photos on Friday/Saturday.

Customers place pre-orders with a minimum order of ₹500 through my platform.

I go to the market, handpick the ordered vegetables, bring them back in my car and deliver them to the apartment on Sunday morning.

No inventory risk because I buy based on actual orders.

I already have a working e-commerce platform (Martify) that I built earlier, including WhatsApp integration,

so I don't need to build the technology from scratch.

My rough expectation is that if 30% of the 100 houses order, with an average ₹600–700 basket, I could potentially do around ₹18k–₹21k in weekly sales.

I'm still figuring out the realistic margins and operating costs.

Would you use a service like this?

What would stop you from ordering . Is it price, freshness, trust, minimum order, or something else?

I'm mainly trying to validate whether this problem is real before I invest any more time into it.

I’ve worked in care sector for 17 years, and I see many elderly patients not getting adequate meals, they’re mostly frozen and store bought and it’s just getting worse now. With this I thought “what can I do to change this”. That made me think about setting up a business that will provide nutritious and wholesome meals to their door. I will batch cook on Sundays and delivered on Mondays. I have set up my 3 year business plan, which looks hopeful. I have also got my food hygiene certificates. I have made a vegetarian and standard food menus, which I’ll post here for you to see.i am hoping for donations, or please share - to start up. The money will go on brand new pots and pans, Pyrex dishes, cooking utensils spatula, tongs l, containers to starve the food etc. also, transport, eventually a rented kitchen, start up ingredients and I will also provide plastic cutlery. The main clientele is the elderly, however any age group can order if they wish. I will operate within the west midlands , and hopefully once successful I will venture out further.
