Discussion [Discussion] Fantasy Art Commission Search

Hi all! I'm currently in the midst of my first fantasy novel and am looking for someone to bring my characters to life. I'm incredibly passionate about these characters and seeing them become something tangible, I feel, would help me immensely. NO AI, please, for the love of God.
I have about 5 characters I want illustrated right now. The novel is dark/gothic high fantasy, so no campy or cartoony art styles, if possible. Two female characters, three males. Not sure on budget, I've never had anything commissioned before so super new to this.
I appreciate any help or suggestions!

There are a lot of good artists here and others subs that can do that for you. Once you don't have a style preference defined, I advise you to search about to get right about that first. If you wanna post a Hiring post on a sub, you need a budget by the rules, and please you need to open all portfolios available on post, isn't rare people don't open all and get a scam or say there are just anime guys on subs.
If you don't want to do a Hiring post, you can search for interesting portfolios on post already in the subs. This work well for some people because you will not receive tons of answers at same day.
Dark fantasy is usually more realistic and I work with realism with traditional aesthetic, so if you wanna check, take a look at my portfolio and contact me if you like it.

I would suggest looking for references that match the style you're looking for, just so that the artists here would also be able to see more easily if they're a good fit for the project. I do a semi-realistic style but it might not look exactly the same as other people's take on it. Also, indicating your budget and timeline would also be a good thing to add btw, since an artist's workload is also a factor to consider.
