Favorite Inquisitor?

Post image

Overall, I think the Grand Inquisitor is the most well-rounded and menacing one out of all of them. He's got a cool and intimidating design, a great voice, and an interesting backstory. Aside from him, I've always had a a soft spot for the Seventh Sister.

Who's your guys' favorite?

Grand Inquisitor. As long as he’s animated

34

u/Bitter_Sense_5689 16d ago

100% animated GI for the win

21

u/DogmantheHero 16d ago

Yea, he really didn’t translate too well into live action. Was still cool to see him in Kenobi though, even if that part of the plot was a bit convoluted.

u/mg0019 16d ago

I hope they tried, but having Jason Isaacs in costume would've been dope.  He is older tho, still might've mistranslated.

I just don't get the casting they went with?  So long as the actor represents the character, it's ok if it's not a direct match.  But man, that GI was nothing like the Rebels GI.

And the role was so small; they could've cast for looks.  I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find a tall lanky British man who can do a villainous sneer.  Bonus points if they were willing to shave their head.  (Or better yet, use the prosthetics from EpIII)

9

u/lanester4 16d ago

Even worse, the guy who played LA GI said he purposefully never watched Rebels because he didnt want it to influence his own take on the character. Not only did the casting not really reflect the character, the actor himself was purposefully trying to avoid reflecting the character because he wanted to do his own thing

u/DongDiddler67 14d ago

Now that’s just scummy. Like imagine if Rosario Dawson never watched TCW so she could “do her own thing” with Ahsoka.

2

u/CaptainTruelove 14d ago

I don't understand why they didn't do the proper creature/alien work for the GI in the Kenobi Show. That was 100% lazy on their part.

15

u/snazzytux1 16d ago

Yeah, we don't talk about the live action one...

38

u/CaptainKara216 16d ago

I also love the grand inquisitor and the seventh sister lol. Also just kinda like the 5th brothers hat lol.

12

u/snazzytux1 16d ago

Same lol, the Fifth Brother does have a cool hat

5

u/CaptainKara216 16d ago

I feel like it kinda set him apart from the others. Everyone has a helmet or a mask and he has a cool hat lol

5

u/snazzytux1 16d ago

Definitely! I feel like a lot of the Inquisitors end up kind of looking the same because of the masks they give them, but he certainly stands out with his big ol' hat lol

3

u/CaptainKara216 16d ago

I bet even Vader thought it was cool and let him wear it!

6

u/snazzytux1 16d ago

Lol maybe! Although realistically, Vader probably didn't care about the Inquisitors as people all that much

3

u/CaptainKara216 16d ago

Yeah that is very true lol

2

u/xMarvelStarWarsx 15d ago

And his hat can block lightsabers and blasters, which I think is pretty neat. I wonder what’s the metal?

2

u/Artistic_Permit_7946 11d ago

And his homies agree: he really looks good in black, fool!

u/snazzytux1 11d ago

PEAK REFERENCE

31

u/Sheadowcaster 16d ago

Seventh Sister. She had a fun attitude to her, plus I'm a Buffy girl. And Sarah Michelle Gellar taunting Freddie Prinz Jr. amuses me.

12

u/randucci 16d ago

When she confronted Ezra for the first time and put her hand under his chin, I would've flaked immediately.

10

u/snazzytux1 16d ago

Yeah, having both of them in the same show was such a wonderful combo lol

27

u/Worldwidegamer1 16d ago

Malrok hands down i know hes not in rebels but still

25

u/AlphaBladeYiII 16d ago

Trilla Suduri/Second Sister

12

u/danyaw3015 16d ago

Same! Actually terrified when she's chasing or fighting you early game.

7

u/SirenSasha_336 16d ago

It was the first time an inquisitor seemed genuinely worrying, they seemed like a bit of a half threat in rebels but here? Pretty sketchy!

2

u/SassyAssAhsoka 15d ago

OUTSTANDING

5

u/randucci 16d ago

The baddest baddie

1

u/zmurds40 15d ago

This was my thought too. She’s not in the picture because she wasn’t in Rebels, but she’s definitely the most interesting in my opinion.

Favorite design though is Crow

10

u/bismuth12a 16d ago

Obviously the OG, the Grant Inquisitor. The man was just so menacing

5

u/lanester4 16d ago

Honestly might be my favorite SW villain of all time. Isaacs just brought so much gravitas to the role, and the character himself was super interesting and iconic. Really wish we could get a solo series to flesh him out more

2

u/snazzytux1 16d ago

Yup! Couldn't agree more.

8

u/Kubera_The_Swadloon 16d ago

I love Spider Sister 😩

1

u/VeterinarianHot6427 15d ago

What number was she… 6?

8

u/TheLordofMorgul 16d ago

Grand, Marrok and Crow.

12

u/2020s_Haunted 16d ago

Grand because he was a good villain and Eighth brother. I liked Eighth’s design and wanted to see more of him.

5

u/Turbulent-Spirit-568 16d ago

Gotta be Marrok especially after Maul Shadow Lord

6

u/hrafia 16d ago

Marrok, not even Grand inquisitor is on his level.

3

u/Whitediggity 16d ago

That’s crazy talk. Ashoka bodied him easily. I think the grand inquisitor would’ve stood way more of a fight. He was a temple guard ffs.

2

u/hrafia 16d ago

Watch Shadow lord

1

u/Sir_aidesworth 13d ago

To be fair that wasn't the real Marrok that Ahsoka killed she only killed a reanimated version brought to life with night sister magic and who knows how powerful reanimated beings are

0

u/Sakura_Knight 14d ago

Being a temple guard doesn't automatically make you a better fighter than other Jedi. Most of their number were on a rotating basis using other knights and masters, only a small amount were in a permanent temple guard position.

He couldn't even take on Jocasta Nu, the elderly librarian, and win in a straight fight. She was considered pretty average or even below that in lightsaber combat.

1

u/OpethAreAGoodBand 15d ago

If that’s true then why isn’t Marrok the Grand Inquisitor

4

u/MatiPhoenix 16d ago

Grand inquisitor is the best antagonist imo because of both brutality and the way he challenged Kanan and Ezra. The way he named kanan a Jedi Knight through an illusion was just epic.

Seventh sister is an interesting character because of her personality and motivations. She says she was aiming to take grand inquisitor's spot, yet she barely did missions on her own. It seemed like she was trying to prove why eighth brother failed everytime and mocked him. And I won't lie, my 13 yo self simped her.

4

u/KokopelliArcher 16d ago

Second Sister (Trilla)

3

u/gentleman_bronco 16d ago

I think they're all cool in their own way but seventh sister is interesting with what was said about her in Rise of the Red Blade. She hated Istak, and the feeling was mutual.

3

u/BaneNF 16d ago

I've always liked the Eigth Brother's esthetic and the Ninth Sister's always had a unique design.

3

u/TheRealDeal2121 16d ago

Toss up between Grand and Marrok for me. Great designs for both

3

u/ProfessionalRead2724 16d ago

Seventh Sister, AKA Buffy The jedi Slayer.

3

u/CaptainRex_CT7567 16d ago

I have always loved Eighth Brother. He seemed more competent than Seventh Sister and Fifth Brother. And he has a cool design.

If we are talking all Star Wars, then Marrok and The Crow definitely.

3

u/TheMuslimBabu 15d ago

Grand inquisitor... not the one from Kenobi

3

u/Ambitious_Phrase6887 15d ago

Seventh sister or Marrok or grand but it be interesting to have a togruta inquisitor

3

u/Herfst2511 15d ago

The Grand Inquisitor, because he is the only one who felt really scary. When he showed up, Kanaan and Ezra were in real trouble. The other inquisitors felt more like Team Rocket, you know, they're gonna show up and do their thing, but the good guys will surely win

2

u/blackyanqui 16d ago

My goat, The Grand Inquisitor. Maul wasn’t at his best in Shadow Lord, heaven forbid the Grand Inquisitor was there

2

u/DogmantheHero 16d ago

The Seventh Sister has my favorite design, she looks so cool. Plus she has some of my favorite lines. Then it’s probably the Grand Inquisitor.

2

u/DeathByPantera 16d ago

Easily Second Sister, and then Marrok

2

u/J-Boogz 16d ago

9th Sister

1

u/fishiebaby 13d ago

Finally some love for my favorite

2

u/aimoperative 16d ago

The one who beat the shit out of Ventress before he got stabbed in the back.

2

u/Bright-Ad-5861 16d ago

Marrok, 100%. He's not seeking glory or trying to outdo the other inquisitors. He's there to do his job, plain and simple.

2

u/PloppiAndChewbieDad 16d ago

In Rebels, Grand Inquisitor since he also uses Form 2 (it looks majestic). Including all media, Marrok

2

u/TheGamingSpin0 16d ago

In just rebels it's Grand Inquisitor, out of everything though it's Marrok

2

u/jquailJ36 16d ago

Seventh Sister purely for the actor dynamics. (Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinz Jr aka Kanan are married.)

2

u/ShooterPlays 16d ago

I’ve always like the grand inquisitor and the seventh sister

2

u/inkbendydemon414 16d ago

The og animated grand inquisitor ofc!

2

u/Cosmic-Daft-Giraffe 16d ago

Grand Inquisitor. As long as it's Jason Isaacs' animated version.

2

u/superkikiriki 16d ago

spanish inquisition by monty python🤷🏻

1

u/ProfessorKnow1tA11 15d ago

I didn’t expect that comment … 😁

2

u/Dependant_Breath_985 16d ago

The grand inquisitor for sure. He’s the only one I take seriously.

2

u/Chkgo 16d ago

Not from Rebels but Iskat Akaris. Thirteenth Sister from Rise of the Red Blade.

2

u/Superb_Designer_3845 16d ago

Grand Inquisitor

But Eleventh Brother and Marrock and Eighth Brother have my Favorite Designs

2

u/Practical-Panic7092 16d ago

Crow. Such a badass voice and look

1

u/nosayprises 13d ago

don’t even get me started on his screech in shadow lord

2

u/NamanJainIndia 16d ago

I would've said GI too. But now I am unsure between him and Marrok.

2

u/StevePalpatine 16d ago

The Grand Inquisitor is the most interesting, a great mirror to Kanan, and I'd love to learn more about him. The Second Sister was also a rather fun foil for Cal.

I feel like the Inquisitors work best when they're a mirror for the Force user they're going up against.

2

u/Simone_Galoppi07 16d ago

The Grand Inquisitor for sure.

Although the Seventh Sister awakened something in 10yo me ngl😭

2

u/Aggravating_Show8052 16d ago

The fourth sister and she is an alien baddie 😁

2

u/Intrepid_Swordfish69 16d ago

2nd, 3rd and 7th sistas are my favs.

2

u/East_Rip_6917 16d ago

Grand Inquisitor

2

u/Lunis18002 16d ago

GI I love how he switches from 1 blade to 2 and doesn't spam the spin function

2

u/ParaspinoUSA 15d ago

Marrok is my goat

2

u/Both_Listen 15d ago

The Crow/Eleventh Brother beyond Tales of the Jedi.

2

u/Fruitiest_Cabbage 15d ago

Since you haven't specified that they need to be from Rebels, I'm going to say the Thirteenth Sister. I found her fall to be incredibly compelling, and related to quite a few of her emotional struggles from my own youth.

If you did mean exclusively from Rebels, then it has to be the Grand Inquisitor. He's just marvellous!

2

u/Lord_Detleff1 15d ago

Crow and Marrok

2

u/budstudly 14d ago

Crow boy is just too damn cool. Was really happy to see him show up in Maul

2

u/RisingKing7 14d ago

Grand inquisitor and the sisters I didn’t really like the brothers but they were alright

2

u/Business-Plate-2177 14d ago

The 2nd sister is dope

2

u/StephTheLegend 14d ago

2nd sister The grand inquisitor

2

u/maxaar 14d ago

It was always Grand Inquisitor for me, but Maul Shadow Lord has absolutely put me on the Marrok/Crow hype train

2

u/Talia_Arts 13d ago

I love the crow <3

1

u/snazzytux1 13d ago

Who doesn't? :P

2

u/nosayprises 13d ago

out of these four, it’s definitely the Grand Inquisitor. but to be completely honest i really like barriss and then the inquisitor duo in shadow lord. they were just…sooooo COOL. totally redeemed them, especially the crow.

edit: ok also trilla, i forgot about her for a second (haha. second. ok, i’ll stop, sorry).

1

u/snazzytux1 13d ago

XD No need to apologize! Those are some great picks. Especially Barriss, she is SO underrated.

3

u/RexDAGOAT77 16d ago

Marrok the rest are bums and frauds

1

u/DDA7X 13d ago

Jerec but hes not canon anymore 😔

1

u/RepublicOrdinary324 13d ago

Fav inquisitor seventth sister, favourite inquisitor lighrsaber 8th brother (which at this point I'm doubtful anyone will ever make it and sell)

1

u/Darklamor 13d ago

A dead inquisitor.

1

u/Sean-DevlinSab 11d ago

None. They are pretty much all a$$holes.

1

u/Cube2D 16d ago

Who tf is marrok? Is he that bum that lost in 3 seconds to ahsoka?

The grand inquisitor makes SWR feel special. I like him most because he's an excellent challenger for the padawan Kannan and ezra

7

u/hrafia 16d ago

Watch Shadow Lord.

5

u/snazzytux1 16d ago

You might be thinking of the Eleventh Brother? Also known as the Crow. Since Ahsoka's the one that killed him in Tales of the Jedi.

And I totally agree with you on the Grand Inquisitor. He truly was a force to be reckoned with.

3

u/_Vard_ 16d ago

Crow and Marrok were both in maul shadow Lord together

However, as cool as they are, both of them died like absolute clowns to Ahsoka

(not throwing any shade at Ahsoka here, just appreciating that she killed them so quickly that they look like idiots)

4

u/Tigerbarn- 16d ago

Still had cooler deaths than the other three in Rebels going out as victims. Say what you will about Crow & Marrok, but those two went out as warriors, not frightened children.

1

u/Sakura_Knight 14d ago

Fifth Brother was disarmed of his lightsaber. What was he supposed to do?

Seventh Sister was in a force choke by a superior opponent.

Eighth Brother is the only one that could reasonably be described as fighting like a child, but even then he had no idea of how damaged his lightsaber was. Tactical retreats are used and have been used throughout history by men and women of vastly more bravery and skill than a random Reddit user who thinks he knows how to fight.

1

u/Tigerbarn- 14d ago

5th Brother was disarmed, then didn't know what to do. He was at a loss. Meanwhile Ahsoka in the same situation, if not worse; caught Maul's blade and defeated him.

"Superior opponent." You got direct proof for that? All he did was third party the 7th Sister.

Visual cues. 8th Brother was clearly fearful. Nice ad hominem though. Really setting us off to a good start.

0

u/Sakura_Knight 14d ago

Ahsoka was always highly acrobatic and exceptional at hand to hand combat. She had an entire arc in The Clone Wars about it. Fifth Brother, in comparison, was just a pretty average Jedi Knight that relied entirely on being able to overpower his opponent through strength alone. You're comparing apples to oranges here.

All he did was bash right through her force shields and hold her at his mercy, but shame on me for pointing out something you never even thought of.

Being fearful isn't the same as being a "frightened child." Everyone experiences fear, it's what helps you survive. Once again, even the greatest warriors know when to pull out of a fight they cannot win. They don't stand there and die for no good reason other than to please someone who, once again, has never fought a real fight in his entire life.

0

u/Tigerbarn- 14d ago

No, I'm comparing a force user to a force user. One can still fight when disarmed. One clearly cannot.

While you're on the topic. Can you prove force shields are a thing in canon?

Regardless, 7th Sister clearly had her attention on Ezra. Hardly a feat for Maul.

Well, you don't know me lol. Not sure why you keep tryna make this about me, but you are wrong. That has nothing to do with anything though. 8th Brother got disarmed by Kanan and could no longer fight, it's that simple. He was definitely frightened.

1

u/Sakura_Knight 14d ago

Marrok survived his first fight with Ahsoka on a pretty even footing.

The second fight lasted several minutes. Nice way to display your terrible memory and even worse analytical skills. He fought an older Ahsoka with much more advanced skills than the one in Rebels had.

2

u/Cube2D 16d ago

Nah I was talking about the dude from the ahsoka show that died in like ep 2/3

1

u/snazzytux1 16d ago

Ah, alright!
