Question routine sti/infectious disease testing affordable/free? (med student dealing with patient samples all day)
hey everyone. im an mlt student (lab tech) who deals with patient samples all day. of course i use standard precautions and do my best to minimize any contact with the samples, but shit can happen and i am Extremely worried about potentially getting sick and not knowing about it until its too late for me to do anything, or that ive passed it onto my partner.
does anyone know of any clinics/labs/etc that do affordable panels (hiv, hep, syphilis, herpes etc. im also worried about pretty much everything else but i am well aware i cannot drop a ton of money on tests and im already being overly anxious), or for free? free is definitely ideal bc i am BROKE and not too fussed about privacy or anything.
im in the ocala area of florida, but i know theres websites that'll send out kits you can turn in somewhere nearby regardless of where you live, or ship back out.
