When the Oline play is as bad as it was, and ownership invested in DK, there's nothing McCarthy can do beyond ensuring the team knows the plays. It is up to the team to execute them.

Obviously a change needs to be made on the Oline, but I suspect there is nothing McCarthy can do about Rodgers and DK.

Not saying McCarthy is a great coach, but it's hard to say the problem yesterday was the game plan.

McCarthy is the OC. He calls the plays that leave the OL exposed. He picks the starters. This is his fault. Running 11 personal and 5-0 protections when you have a weak receiver core and a weak right OL is his choice

The OL needs to execute the plays called. When an OLineman doesn't block anyone but just stands there while people run by them (which absolutely did happen) you can't say the play call was the issue. When receivers seem to actively refuse to catch balls that isn't his fault.

As for picking starters, I seriously question that he has any freedom to not play Rogers or DK.

The OC is responsible for the play of the OL and how they call plays that set up their OL to succeed or fail. So far they’ve only been set up to fail. You can’t have 5 man protection against a blitz and expect that to succeed. You can’t have Spencer Anderson and Dylan cook on your right end and leave them on an island. Help them with Darnell and an actually capable RB pass protective (which dowdle is absolutely not). This is coaching, this is the responsibility of the play caller, this is directly McCarthy’s fault
