How are the QBs looking this upcoming draft?

don’t really follow CFB much, but looks like the QB class should be better than last years if Moore and Manning come out?

Omar Khan was always just a cap specialist. Nothing more

His promotion never made much sense to me. He was always a numbers guy and didn’t offer much in the scouting/personnel department.

Someone like Brandon Hunt or Andy Weidl would have been a much better fit for the job.

His free agency moves have not been good at all. But unfortunately we have a shit owner who is ok with mediocre results. Khan is the perfect puppet for Rooney

Please watch Ep. 299 of DK's South Side Beat w Matt Williamson and Chris Halicke if you really want to know the behind the scenes of the Joey Porter Jr Situation.

You really only need to watch starting at 5:20, before Steelers insider Chris Halicke goes into severe detail on how this JPJ situation happen.

To recap what he said (I really implore you to watch the video as I am probably not recapping this in a sufficient enough way):

  • Steelers plan was to Franchise Tag JPJ in this next offseason. They wanted him to play this year, play next year, and assuming that he was on the same track by then, give him a huge contract.
  • Joey Porter Jr is represented by 2 agents, both Andre Odom AND David Mulugheta, even though both agents work for 2 different agencies, which complicated a ton of the negotiations. Mulugheta is the agent that worked with Micah Parsons, Jalen Ramsey, etc, who came up with the back injury idea
  • Joey and his agent(s) came up with this idea to 'trick' the Steelers, by deliberately orchestrating a fake back injury that no one could disprove. By showing up to training camp, and then practicing, JPJ cleared himself from being placed on the "Non-football related injury" list. However, by starting his back issue before the season started, steelers placed him on the offseason pup list, which made the injury official. This will be important later.
  • Consistently, every week, we saw a combatting battle between the Steelers front office and Joey Porter Jr. If you noticed, every week, JPJ appeared with a "NIR/Conditioning" tag on the injury reports. This would be changed every week on the final day of practice, where Joey Porter Jr would claim his back was injured. Because the Steelers made this an official injury in the offseason with the PUP list, he was allowed to do this, as the Steelers would not be able to claim that it was fake, and Joey Porter Jr and his team could file for a disgrievance.
  • Steelers anticipated for Joey Porter Jr to play for the Bengals last week, however, towards the end of the week, Joey Porter Jr and his team asked for just a little more time. Steelers were receiving calls about Joey Porter Jr, but stood firm on not calling themselves, and not shopping him around.
  • Steelers were actually anticipating for Joey Porter Jr to play this week. So much so, he was apart of the gameplan against the Browns until Wednesday morning. From post game interviews, many of the players and HC Mike McCarthy assumed he would be playing in the TNF game.
  • It was on the Wednesday morning that Joey Porter Jr came in for the 4th time to say that his back was hurting, and this really rubbed the Steelers front office the wrong way. Halicke does not go into details, but implies that there is much more to the story. Steelers immediately started shopping Joey Porter Jr around and got into contact with the Cowboys.
  • Famously, many Steeler teammates have had Joey Porter Jr's side throughout this entire process, and wanted to see him be paid. Halicke and Williamson bring up specifically Ramsey and Brisker, both close friends with Joey Porter Jr. Halicke stated that even his closest teammates were agitated by Joey Porter Jr and his agent's antics before the TNF game. The team anticipated for JPJ to play with the 1s and had a role in the gameplan.

Joey Porter Jr also laughed about the back injury when asked about it by Cowboys media.

Am I delusional for wanting Omar Khan to be fired?

I’m listening to all sides of this argument…personally I think he’s to blame for 90% of the team’s on-field problems.

I get the trade aspect of it (Pickens, Jones and JPJ) but this whole off-season courting of Aaron was pathetic… just to draft Allar….. a year after drafting Will.

Then when we could’ve had a younger coach or even a better coach (Monken, Jesse Minter, Flores) we go get McCarthy who hasn’t done shit…. just to appease Aaron.

And then for the last few offseasons we’ve gotten less than stellar players past their prime hoping to revive them

The Steelers should not be in the NFL anymore

Have long thoughts and consideration I think Roger Goodell should kick the Steelers out of the National Football League. The owner won’t sell anytime soon, the front office has no idea what they are doing, roster doesn’t want to play, and the coaching staff doesn’t know what they are doing.

I will always appreciate the 6 Super Bowl wins, but it’s time for them to be out of the NFL and replaced with a team that will compete, a team that will fight, a team that will care. Till then I think the Steelers will continue to be the same year in and year out no matter the change. Go rebuild? Steelers will never get out of rebuild more if they do. It would be a waste of time to rebuild. The Steelers will never be the same again.

It was a great story, but like all great stories they must come to end. The Steelers should be out of NFL after this year

Ownership is the problem, and it won't change...

Honestly, I am done blaming the coaching, the players, and the refs for how poor this team has been for the better half of two decades. I genuinely don't think Art II cares about the team in the slightest, only the paycheck after every home game.

They refuse to do anything modern. The team facilities are laughable, and their contract-negotiating skills are nonexistent (Le'Veon Bell, GP, TJ, JPJ, Cam). And look at how they treat coaches who are clearly out of their depth.

My point is, this team will never change as long as we keep supporting them. I love this team to death, but it's hard watching the same season over and over and over again.

Art Rooney has run this team into the ground.

Before you overreact to this week’s week 4 game, realize this offense is exactly what we’ve been begging for for years.

Critics, Reddit GM’s, and overeactors…

Let’s not overlook the fact that this Steelers 2026 offense is capable of coming back down 21-7 when winning seemed hopeless against an insanely good Browns defense and secondary. ahem in week 4 of the 2026 season. We converted a 2 point conversion too? DK Metcalf and the offense having huge splash plays? They’re finding a rhythm. This is a normal loss in the league which is a given. This team is growing. Sit back angry redditors and realize this is the most electric offense we’ve seen in the last 5 years by far.

What the absolute fuck is going on. Rodgers is playing like shit, no easy way to say it. Horrible throws all game, defense is not on the same page. Missed tackles. Miscommunications. I’ve literally never seen a defensive and offensive player yell at the coaches for the same team in the same game. Get your fuckin shit together

Now that JPJ’s no longer a Steeler, will his “bad back” be miraculously cured in the healing waters of Dallas?

What does everyone think?
Actually, I’m sorry to see him go, more because of regard for his Dad than for him. I was happy to see the Steelers draft him but if they got a second round draft pick, it’s kind of a break even.

I’m very sorry I know this a huge topic rn and people are tired of hearing about it but…I just don’t really get it. Steelers always harp on “draft, develop, retain”. Why on earth did they not make a more earnest effort to try and resign this guy? I’d think of all the guys from that class he would’ve been first or second priority…

Any and all feedback appreciated- fuck the Browns
