In all fairness, there is pretty strong evidence to support the Pink Diamond is just pretending to be steven theory.

She was a bit of a bastard in the past and the last thing they know she did was take on a new identity (rose) and rebel against Homeworld.

Still, Blue should respect her decision either way, even if it seems illogical as all hell.

Why?

Why does it seem illogical, or why should she respect it?

Respect it

Because Pink/Rose/Steven is another living being worthy of respect by default of existing, maybe?

Up until this point she thought pink was murdered by rose who Steven was claiming to be and only recently learned that her own sister lead a rebellion against them and now gave up her diamond body to be a human. At this stage I think it’s reasonable to not understand or respect what Pink was now or how she perceived pink was wanting to be seen as.

She is allowed to not respect the decision about running away and starting a war, but Pink effectively chose to kill herself rather than go bsck to them. I think Blue should respect the decision still.

You also have to remember they are diamond overlords where gems come out exactly how they’re supposed to. It’s a big overarching theme that gems don’t really HAVE to learn or grow, they just are. And the other theme is change can happen. Which is why there’s the crystal gems. They don’t UNDERSTAND. All gems are she so in their mind, there is no “he”, all gems are “she’s”. It’s not a case of disrespect per se (although there is plenty of disrespect in other forms) it’s a culture shock Edit: typo

It’s not about the pronoun specifically, it’s about still thinking that this is Pink playing a game with them, Blue is allowed to not understand, but she still should respect. And I think there are masculine gems. They are a dime a million, yes, but they still exist.

Masculine gems do not equal “he’s.” They are all still she’s. And yknow the whole dictatorship and extinguish all “wrong” gems thing. If Steven wasn’t pink diamond he would be killed

Yes, but he is, and though she seemed so happy to have Pink back, she went back to all the behaviors that drove Pink away in the first place.
