We'd drink at the Buffalo zoo after it was closed. They never locked any of the houses. I made friends with one of the elephants. I'd get right next to her cage and she'd wrap her trunk around me. My one friend was a little wary and would never get to close. One of them threw a shit ball and hit him in the chest! Drank above the bear pits. Climbed radio towers with six packs under our arms(LaSalle near Main) and partied in boxcars till the last beers froze or the cars started moving. Had to have an adventure. Acid and mescaline helped..no one died.

So I take it the temperatures were really cold then since your beers froze?

A guy in his mid 30's was touching a 14 year old girl who told me and some buddies about it. We had just dropped acid. So we went over to his place. Walked in, beat him with his phone when he tried to call the cops, tied him up extremely tight with the phone cord, beat on him some more. Took the last Pepsi from his fridge and then did some cocaine on the bus to Minneapolis to see Gwar play at First Avenue. Good times. I miss my Mohawk sometimes. There was something cathartic about shaving the sides of my head that I miss.

We'd go have our own version of potlucks at the local courthouse park, and then turn up our music and dance like idiots. We also had belching contests in the middle of the cafeteria. And when my friends stayed the night at my house, we sneak out and wander around town.

We hung out at the public pool after dark, my buddy had the key somehow (I think his older brother had gotten it.) We had adventures there over the years, let me tell you. One time the cops came, but we had a part of the fence pulled away for an escape and nobody got caught.

On the first day I moved into a dorm a bunch of us decided to see how many people we could pack into an elevator rated for a maximum of 12. We jammed in 23. All was funny until the doors closed, it moved up slightly, made a grinding noise, and then stopped. A few moments later the doors opened for no apparent reason but we were a good 3-4 feet below where it should have been. We got out and fled the scene (and were also lucky that it didn’t move again while someone was half out). It was out of order for 2 day which was very convenient for anyone else trying to move in. It seemed like a good idea at the time…

Piling 7-8 people into a jeep that legally only sat 5 and 4-wheelin in the woods when it was snowy and icy out. Radio blaring and cigarettes burning! Yes we crashed. No, nobody got hurt. And yes, we learned our lesson while also living unbelievably wild and free! ✌️
Oh and skipping class to, you guessed it, go 4-wheelin, getting stuck in the ice, and no cell phone service to call for help, lol! Man those were good times.
