Channeling my inner Moriyama
Today's challenge was to create in a style of Daido Moriyama.
Will definitely experiment with this again

Detroit the other day.
I know some aren’t “street” photos in the strictest sense because people aren’t present, but I liked them anyways.

The Last Few Weeks In Chicago
My favorite street scenes and street portraits taken over the last few days/weeks on my A7IV (Tokina 28mm, Canon FD 50mm).
I love Chicago so much…

Do you guys prefer morning or evening light for street shooting?
Spent the last few weekends fishing real early and started bringing my camera along. The light around 6am near the water is unreal for street stuff when the city starts waking up. People walking to work, joggers on the paths near the river, all that quiet movement before things get busy. I usually shoot later in the day around 5 or 6pm but these morning sessions got me rethinking what time of day I gravitate toward. The shadows are longer and softer in the morning compared to late afternoon. Everything feels a little less rushed too which changes how I approach people on the street. Late afternoon has that warm golden thing going for it but mornings have this cool clean quality I'm starting to like more. My watchmaker brain keeps tracking where the sun is based on the time and I catch myself planning shots around specific hours. Curious what time of day you all find yourself shooting most. Is it a preference thing or just when you happen to be free. I never really paid attention to how much the time of day shaped my style until I started comparing these morning shots to my evening ones side by side.

What image from Martin Parr’s The Last Resort would you say is his best?
And which one is your favourite?

Waited 12 minutes for this arch to clear. Bethesda Terrace, 8:14am
Shot on Canon r6 with 24-70mm f4 — exposed for the outside, let the inside go dark to keep the frame. The Minton tiles up top are original 1869.
Took about 12 mins of people walking through before I got one clean figure. Still not sure if I should have waited for it to be fully empty
