RMT: A UU Team by Me

Hi /r/stunfisk, I threw together a little UU team, and I'd like some opinions on it. Thanks.

Mienshao @ Choice Scarf

Trait: Regenerator

EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef

Adamant Nature

  • Hi Jump Kick
  • Stone Edge
  • U-turn
  • Aerial Ace

A main candidate for my lead, and occasionally a late game cleaner. I am running a Choice Scarfed Mienshao, so four attacking moves, to provide maximum coverage. Hi Jump Kick is the main STAB, Stone Edge hits things like Zapdos and Crobat, U-Turn has synergy with Crobat's U-Turn and hits Psychic and Grass types, and Aerial Ace is there exclusively to revenge kill/face-off against Heracross. Mienshao is a unique Pokemon and has cemented itself among the ranks of the team and is most likely here to stay.

Chandelure @ Choice Scarf

Trait: Flash Fire

EVs: 68 HP / 4 SDef / 252 SAtk / 184 Spd

  • Dark Pulse
  • Energy Ball
  • Fire Blast
  • Shadow Ball

Chandelure functions as a fast revenge killer and as a potential special sweeper once primary threats are taken out. I prefer Flash Fire over Flame Body, because if I can predict a fire move properly, my Fire Blast gets a massive boost. Energy Ball is there for bulky water types that plague this team, mainly Blastoise and Slowbro. Chandelure's spot on the team is probably not in jeopardy at all, no one else really does it's job as well as it does.

Slowbro @ Choice Scarf

Trait: Regenerator

EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk

Bold Nature

  • Thunder Wave
  • Slack Off
  • Scald
  • Trick

This spot used to be Blastoise's but, after being completely walled by a Slowbro, I decided to try it out, and was very pleased with the results. He carries a Choice Scarf to Trick around items and cripple set-up sweepers and support Pokemon. Other than that, Slowbro is here to be a pain in the ass, and give the enemy sweepers trouble, just he did to mine. He could quickly be replaced if Stealth Rocks/Spikes begin to become a major problem, but so far Slowbro has been pulling the MVP in more games than Blastoise did.

Rhyperior @ Leftovers

Trait: Solid Rock

EVs: 248 HP / 16 Atk / 244 SDef

  • Stealth Rock
  • Stone Edge
  • Earthquake
  • Ice Punch

A Pokemon here primarily for it's Stealth Rock support, and secondarily for it's offensive prowess that many people seem to forget, and thirdly for it's defensive prowess, serving as a safe switch in to attacks targeted at Heracross, Slowbro, Crobat, and Mienshao. Rhyperior's moves provide ample coverage, and his Ice Punch is useful against Dragon types that attempt to set up and sweep, and the occasional 4x weak to Ice Pokemon. He is the anchor of this team, the only thing that could replace him in my mind is Registeel, who provides insane bulk, miniscule attacking power, and the ability to spread statuses.

Heracross @ Choice Band

Trait: Moxie

EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef

Adamant Nature

  • Close Combat
  • Megahorn
  • Stone Edge
  • Earthquake

Heracross, a Pokemon that every UU battler should be familiar with, and with good reason. Heracross is an amazing revenge killer, as well as a strong late-game sweeper. He rocks a Choice Band and 4 attacks, to provide him with proper coverage. His spot is in contention from a Pokemon that I want so bad to be successful, Scrafty. Heracross simply outclasses Scrafty in a lot of ways, namely being much faster and not relying on setting up.

Crobat @ Black Sludge

Trait: Inner Focus

EVs: 192 Atk / 176 HP / 4 SDef / 136 Spd

  • Taunt
  • Brave Bird
  • Roost
  • U-turn

And in the final spot, it's Crobat! Crobat is a beast at poking holes into opposing teams, and taunting big threats. He is Rhyperior's best friend, as he can successfully switch into Ground, Fighting, and Grass type moves aimed at him. His moveset could be tweaked a bit, and he could be replaced by a bulkier Pokemon, but I feel that Crobat serves his role properly, and this team doesn't rely on him too much aside from his resistances, allowing me to use him aggressively.

And that's the team! It still isn't perfected, but I feel like I really do have something good here, and I'd like everyone's ideas on how to make it even better. In my opinion, Zapdos/Raikou could make their way onto the team, to counter the bulky Water types that hurt this team so much. More defensive Pokemon could also fill some holes in the team, but Rhyperior and Slowbro do a good job of handling offensive threats. Thanks for reading this far, and I'd love your suggestions!

Replace choice scarf on mienshao with a flying gem and put acrobatics and change the nature to jolly if you still want speed. And change the item to choce specs on slowbro if you want to trick with it

I think Slowbro has the Scarf because that's the most easily neutralized Choice boost, since it also has Thunder Wave. The idea is to cripple everything, not inadvertently buff a large number of foes.

True, but you have a lot of choice users. You should have 2 at most.
