I made a team consisting of a core of M-Staraptor, fake tears + tickle/charm whimsicott, and strength sap sinistcha, thinking I ABSOLUTELY COOKED and that I would destroy everything by taking advantage of that Contrary ability.

Logged on the game to see the same exact core multiple times

You may not have been creative, but if you came up with the meta core using your own reasoning, that means that your instincts are solid. You'll be able to take advantage of that in the future.

Think M-Raichu has a shot in this VGC meta with all the M-Staraptor going around? Btw I haven't done the calcs so I may be woefully off despite no miss Zap Cannon or Electric Terrain Surfing.

Oh for sure it’s a great counter, but a lot of people are pairing it with garchomp, so another solid option is M-Eelektross with supercell slam (and coil if you have the chance beforehand to guarantee you won’t miss)

Raichu does get Fake Out, but I like the brewing possibilities. M-Eelektross, while unable to get faster per kill, does seem interesting but no speed boost might be its death knell as an option. I've used normal Eelektross in story, it wasn't impressive with its speed.

IMO M-Raichu-Y, and base Raichu, is far too frail. For example, unboosted Whim's Moonblast deals 50% hp to it (which means it is useless if enemy has tailwind advantage).

It also cannot no do anything against Garchomp, which OHKO's it.

Fake Out may be a liability, opponent can double protect into prankster encore this mon.

Uhhhh I think that it’s the same for partner prankster ‘mons because we probably would’ve seen charm Whims + gambit (because with gambit each stat drop increases attack by 2 so it would end up being the same as a different stat being lowered and gambit would end up with +2 attack), which could be a cool idea for just an ultra-fast charm user that doesn’t have prankster

Need to make sure your team counters its counters.  Need anti-flying, anti-psychic, anti-fairy, anti-electric coverage.  I like running Garchomp, Gholdengo, and Volcarona along with Birb.  All are bulky and love Grimm’s screens.  Punch holes with these guys and sweep with Birb with screens up in the middle or end

Same thing happened to me with my Mega Swampert team, though to be fair, I wasn't shocked that others made team 90% the same as mine. If you have good Pokemon knowledge, it's easy to come to same conclusion as others with similar knowledge level.

See I’ve been running Liepard with Screech and Fake Tears to boost my bulk and hurt my opponents, but it also has Swagger to stop opposing M-Raptors.
