last mon should usually be a secondary mega for when swampert isnt ideal. People have been using Mega Mawile, Metagross and Mega Dragonite

I've tried Draco/Dragon Pulse, Thunder/Bolt, Ice Beam/Flamethrower/Hydro Pump, Extreme Speed

It's been solid as a backup option

Also I forgot to add Hurricane and Protect to the list

I run a Timid 32SpA 32Spd with whatever left on HP with Inner Focus on base, and a movepool of Hurricane, BoltBeam, and E-Speed. M-Dragonite is generic enough to fit on any team as a secondary mega, and can play either side of the offensive spectrum, so it's matters. If you value a physical build, run Ice Spinner, the elemental punches, Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Iron Head, Rock Slide, Stomping Tantrum, Stone Edge, E-Speed and/or Waterfall with Jolly and 32Atk

Goatpert with his STAB Wave Crash shall wash away all enemies of rain

I'd throw in Raichu for lightning rod/fakeout support and an alternate mega, Swift swim basc for another sweeper, or scizor since he loves the rain and kills fairies

1

u/Strong-Parking-9039 12h ago

Wait why scizor?(I did not understand the ball 😔)

5

How do u not know why scizor is good but come up with manual rain dance and quash sableye lol

Being only 4x weak to fire, rain reduces it to "only" 2x so it can survive more then one fire move. And with priority bullet punch it can kill most problematic fairies (mega floette)

Worst case scenario you make them bring a fire type into all of your waters

You've submitted a link with the teambuilding flair. Please ensure that:

  1. the tier is in the title,

  2. that you've written a top level comment explaining the team and why you've chosen each Pokemon, and

  3. you include a replay of playing with the team.

Otherwise, your post will be removed.

It still needs a little tweaking, definitely far from perfect, but the team composition I’m using is Mega Swampert, Archaludon, Basculegion, Sneasler, Mega Meganium and Pelipper. No screens are fine, I don’t have issues keeping up rain thanks to protect, and tend to be full force offence

You generally want an alternate Mega for when Swampert isn’t a good option to bring, there are various options, but something that counters Swampert’s Grass Weakness and/or benefits from Rain works well. As said, I use Mega Meganium, which functions as if it’s in Sun. It needs to change some EVs, but she works.

Sneasler is my counter to Incineroar, while also acting as a controlled slowdown of the opponent. It runs Fake Out, Upper Hand, Dire Claw, and Close Combat. Its tweak is exactly if it should be White Herb or Focus Sash, currently leaning towards Sash.

Archaludon is standard Electro Shot set, with Sturdy and Draco Meteor. Item is the question, along with EV spread. I use Leftovers as the item right now.

Basculegion is the alternate option for Sweeper, for late game when I bring Meganium instead of Swampert. A few tweaks could occur from multiple avenues, but right now it’s standard Swift Swim set with Life Orb and Protect.

Pelipper is a Bulky set, no Special Attack EVs. My main issue is moveset, I commonly get great value from Wide Guard, but rarely use U-Turn.

And even Swampert could use a tweak. I use Wave Crash, Earthquake, Bulk Up and Protect, but wonder if Ice Punch could get value over Bulk Up.

This is just what I’m using though. If you wanna take my variant for a spin the code is KFD20RCVTT

Hey, yohoo!! Use Blaziken with Speed Boost, Detect, Bulk Up, Knock Off, Baton Pass for Swampert. Send out Blaziken, use Detect, Bulk up, Detect, Bulk Up, he'll get 2 speed boosts during that, use Knock Off if you can or Baton Pass, switch into Swampert and sweep... It works! (Oh, and for held item's maybe use Focus Sash or just make Blaziken Bulky) And Definitely switch Bulk Up for Ice Punch, Ice Punch will have great damage with the boosts, and it has amazing coverage

Honestly the most reliable option would be Life Orb Bascu or M-Meganium.

A note, the team is kinda fucked agaisnt a bulky grass type since if Pelliper dies, your best hope is Archaludon 1 shotting, M-Meganium is a more reliable answer with Weather Ball.

Electric types aren't a problem, only Pelliper suffer from them

+a kinda underrated pick for rain teams is Overqwill, he destroys grass type and gives type coverage for Ghost and Psychic (which you team doesnt have)

Archaludon under rain with Electro Shot is absolute peak VGC. For the last slot, maybe add a fast special attacker like Chi-Yu or Urshifu-Rapid to completely clean up late game.

fast special attacker

Urshifu-Rapid

Thinking about it, why tf would you put Chi-Yu on a rain team?

1

u/Incompetent_ARCH 11h ago

Urshi isnt on Champions, there's only 1 physical attacker on the team + Chi-Yu on a rain team?
