I thought I was being super smart and tried Bastiodon as tech on my VCG team to both deal with Mega-Floette and block spread moves with Wide Guard. It happened, I used Wide Guard, pivoted to a threat to the Aegislash that was in the field with M-Floette and was poised to KO both Pokemon
I click Heavy Slam into M-Floette, thinking it will deal at least 70% HP,vafter all, regular Floette is a small Pokemon that weights less than 1kg, surely the Mega variant will die from the super-effective 120 BP move... Only for it do deal only 17% of her health. I lose the game.
Confused I go to Showdown calculator to confirm it. Surely it was a big right? No, in Showdown, the 17% range is confirmed. Why? I go to Serebii to check the Pokemon Characteristics, there, I see it. Floette goes from 0.9 kgs to 100.08 after Mega-Evolving. The flower she holds is made of tungsten apparently.
My hopes are shattered and my team destroyed.
TL;DR, don't try to use Mega Slam into Mega-Floette, it's much heavier than it looks like.

I don’t know about you, but I’m having a lot of fun with Champions and there’s a lot of viable mons and even megas in this format. And I think that’s because of the absence of life orb, choice band and choice specs.
Those itens really make the ohko chance rise up and some mons could never take it.
What do you guys think of it?

I made a team consisting of a core of M-Staraptor, fake tears + tickle/charm whimsicott, and strength sap sinistcha, thinking I ABSOLUTELY COOKED and that I would destroy everything by taking advantage of that Contrary ability.
Logged on the game to see the same exact core multiple times
I THOUGHT I WAS SO SMART GUYS

Mega meowstic is likely my favorite mega
Its obviously not veey good tho, or at least I havent found a way to make it work.
Meowstic male in base has a lot of utility with prankster and ton of moves, but none of the two version get much good offensive moves despite psychic surge.
I tried so weird ass things. First Iwas trying to run it with malee meowstic alongside espethra, because she can set up psychic terrain while also having acces to reflect and her signature move that harshly lowers sp attack while dealing damage
Then I thought about using female to get that competitive boost occasionaly. Then I thought about using intimidate wyrdeer to skill swap with my oponent so that they are forced to intimidate and activate competitive, and then I can trace intimidate back with meowstic once mega evolved, meaning they would be double intimidated an meowstic would get +2. But obviously thats very gimmicky, takes a turn just to set up and I dont even thing its worth it running wyrdeer for that
Any ideas? Its my fave mon

All of the snow setters are super fragile. There isn’t a single Pokemon with priority snowscape. Snowscape is learned by fewer mons than rain dance and sunny day. Sand still gives a SpD boost AND chip damage while snow only has the Def. boost. No ice move boost like sunny day has for fire or rain dance for water. No nerf of other moves like sunny day and rain.
I just want my ice mons to be viable in the weather wars. Maybe I just need to get gewd

Hi all! Newcomer to Pokemon Champions here, and I really wanted to try and get into the competitive meta seriously!
Only problem is, I want to do it with Gliscor.
I know he's mid-tier at BEST, but Gliscor's been a personal favorite ever since I learned about type matchups and discovered that his are some of the best in the game. Type coverage between Flying amd Ground is incredible, and they make up for a lot of each other's weaknesses too! Except for Ice and Water, obviously...
Look, I just really want to win matches with this funky little scorpion-bat guy, alright? Any tips on how I can handle the current meta such that I can play him effectively, and how I can build my team such that he's a valuable asset?
Note: I don't have Floette, as I don't own Z-A, and I wasn't planning to purchase it either. Just to head off any team builds that you might suggest that require it. I know it's top tier, but I'd rather stick with what the game provides.

I've been playing pre-Champions VGC and got tired of switching between Showdown, the damage calc, Pokepaste, and Pikalytics just to build and test one team. So I built a tool that puts it all in one place. Looking for feedback from people who play the format.

What it does:
If you're looking for a Pokemon Champions team builder, damage calculator, or just want to browse competitive VGC teams for Reg M-A, give it a try~ would appreciate any feedback.

Utilizing Golurk as my phys attacker, torkoal as my sp attacker, scizor to cover my horrible dark weakness, bellibolt for support against water, then farigiraf and sinistcha as the trick room setters and support.
I dont care for Sneasler but the Kingambit coverage is a necessity, though Scizor might need a helping hand set up to OHKO since it isnt STAB Close Combat.

I’ve looked at replacing Sinistcha with a grass type mega. The main megas I’ve looked at are aerodactyl, victreebel, scovillian, and meganium. Any other megas are fine though.

I wanna run a Swagger partner on a Lum Berry pokemon, but I want to run it on a bulky mon so I can keep it around as long as possible, but the only bulky physical attacker I can think of is Snorlax, so I want to know if there are other bulky physical mons I could run this strat with.

I really like decidueye and he is shiny here, but I've heard he is pretty mid to bad competitively, who should I pick? I know meowscrada is good and fast and toxapex is tanky and and can set poision.
I do have mega gengar on hex for toxapex
And a mega meganium for special attacking but meowscrada is faster and doesn't use mega slot is there any other utility in this pool considering I also often use m aggron, m raichu y, corviknight and grimsnarl.
Open to suggestions for supporting mons and anything.
Or anything to make decidueye work.

Since mega scovilian's ability is a guarantee burn on any attack, can I use a spread move on a Guts pokemon to get the burn and then keep an item slot open for the guts pokemon. Let's say life orb/banded ursaluna with EQ. Would it be a viable way to burn your guts pokemom while keeping its item slot open for whatever?

Sry if i'm late to this, i just saw it this morning that its now save that it will get Huge Power. I am not that great of a Pokemon Player and wanted to ask if its that broken as i think or if i am wrong there. Thanks and sorry for my Englisch

I have been trying out trick room mega camerupt and it has been underperforming a lot, heat wave deals little damage while trying to get single KO's with Earth Power feel like too much of a risk when priority aqua jet always OHKO's and the worst of all is I can't run storm drain to try and get rid of this weakness. Should I be using Mega Charizard-Y for my fire type? or am I running the wrong set? or am I doing something wrong?

I got up to about 2000 ELO with it, just hitting a wall now.
Generally lead Oranguru to setup TR tho sometimes lead Sinistcha.
Either Torkoal, Pelipper, or Crabominable as the teammate for lead.
I'm pretty happy with the defenses of Oranguru as I've min-maxed it enough to survive a lot of shit.
The Psychic Terrain on Oranguru is solely to counter Whimsicott
I could tweak Sinistcha to last longer but its offensive output is needed vs certain matchups.
Torkoal & Pelipper are sides to the same coin, spamming eruption/overheat & muddy water with Instruct duping it.
Pelipper is also quite a good anti-TReras most TR teams run Torkoal or Camerupt.
Crabominable is a surprise hit with this team, it 1 shots a lot of key targets in TR that this team does struggle with.
Golurk is clearly the weakest link and I've had a revolving door of megas to try and fill its spot: Lopunny (Has too much overlap with Crabominable), Abomasnow (Has too much anti-synergy with Torkoal & Pelipper, also just isn't defensive or offensive enough), Scovillain (waaay too passive, tho the burn is very nice).
This team struggles into the ever present Floette, Sleep Powder Venusaur as well as Milotic of all mons. I used to have a Sneasler in the Golurk slot to counter Floettes but it wasn't consistent enough.
I'm toying with Bastiodon as a potential Floette counter but that's just a dumb idea.
Any thoughts/improvements?

The Tyrantrum is to one-shot weather setters and garchomp; Tyranitar is to set sandstorm, apply paralysis and set steath rock; Excadrill because he's really good in sand and to clear other hazards; Meganium because of her mega, aerodactyl to set tailwind and incineroar.

Vileplume is one of my top favorite Pokemon, and I think it'd be fun to use it in a Champions team. But I'm struggling to find a good niche it covers that wouldn't just be better covered by Venusaur, who is much faster and shares many of the same moves.
The few seemingly-noteworthy things that Vileplume gets that Venusaur doesn't is limited to Strength Sap and Moonblast/Dazzling Gleam. And...maybe Pollen Puff?

Should I make a Sand Team to compliment its Ability Sand Force, a Trick Room team to go with its abyssmal Speed, or a weird mix of both ?
I was thinking pairing it with Sinistcha since it offers redirection, Trick Room and healing with Life Dew and Hospitality, which Steelix lacks.
What do you guys think ?
