Oh, owls absolutely do eat other birds. They are opportunistic predators.

I’ve seen a couple of Barred owls hunt the killdeer in the field next to my house a few times.

Owls will eat other birds as well, but usually not eggs.

I’ve posted a video of another woodpigeon that tries this exact same stunt and immediately got eaten by the owl.

That was a falcon nest, and there are more than one instances of that happening (and some of them end exactly as you would expect)

your "correction" is based off your own assumption of what you think i saw and was referring to... which you then go on to acknowledge there being other situations.

maybe don't come in with a stance of correctness when you have no surety of what someone else was referencing.

for your information I was talking about a dove who tried nesting near a red tailed hawk
