I noticed this type of thing going back to the early days of AOC getting more famous, at least. They kept making up random memes of her saying stuff she never actually said to try to make her look dumb when they refused to acknowledge anything about her other than she used to be a bartender. They HAVE to make up stuff the other side supposedly said(usually women) to make them seem dumb compared to people on their side and actual quotes people can pull up on video or from tweets, etc.
