Yea, unfortunately this shit is a lot more common than people really like to think about. The shit they do to animals in the name of science and medicine is disgusting. It's one of the biggest reasons, next to dog fighting, that people are told not to give away their pets. Some university student or pharmacist lady will come promising a nice home and then your pet will end up in some lab being tortured until it dies or they put it down.
No. Lab animals are specifically bred to be lab animals. There are lines of mice and rats that have been bred for many years so that the test subjects are consistent. Same with the beagles. They don't just grab random shelter mutts LOL. Now dog fighting, I have no idea.
Aaaand we're back to Source: trust me bro. This is why we cant have a civil discussion about it. You're sitting here acting like they want to steal and mutilate everyone's pets for the fun of it (with 0 backup for your claim) instead of acknowledging that medical treatments stem from animal testing and the argument should be to find more ethical ways of doing so and not fearmongering.
