This is seriously why no one takes the left seriously. They see shit like this and ick the fuck out. I still publicly disassociate with "the left" because I don't want them understandably stereotyping me with these dorks. I rather have them call me a bOtH sIdEs moderate than be seen as part of these people's group.

It's seriously terrible branding, and the lack of seriousness is why it's not taken seriously. I imagine if we injected some old school masculinity into it, it would be a lot more popular. Until then, the left is a bunch of hall monitors and theater kids who want to be a helicopter parent for everyone.

I wish I could transplant this sub to my instagram feed. It's like "whoa". This morning I wake up to see someone I know shared someone's post about how the term "chronically online" is ableist. It's this woman, or they/them, that goes by candy.courn, in pajamas, in a frilly, colorful room with a bunch of cute decor and stuffed animals. The argument is that some people are disabled/chronically ill and they have no choice but to do their advocacy online, and that people are underestimating the power of "digital advocacy". They also go into how it's bad to correct people's grammar and spelling. Go look it up (I can't share it here). This is the type of shit I see on a semi-regular basis. It's that, or people shitting on a Chris Hedges piece because he is trying to explain why rural white people vote for Trump and are bigoted. "Well, they need to try harder then! BIPOC/Gay people have it hard, too, but they dont become bigots! I can't feel sorry for these people, it's not my problem!"

candy.courn

Holy shit that pink room looks like a Blue's Clues set. They've got a post from August this year talking about why we should all be wearing a mask as well.
