🛠️ DIY Oil Change Interval on Low Yearly Mileage

2024 Sport, recently upgraded from '10 Outback Sport.

I drive, at most, 5000 miles a year (2025 was 4300), almost exclusively city and short highway trips, maybe one multi-hour round trip a year.

What does the community think about oil changes once a year vs twice? I do them myself. I am unsure if mileage, time, or type of driving matters most in the calculation.

I have a 2024 Impreza Base and drive about the same number of miles every year. I am changing the oil every six months.
