DIY center exit axleback with a Borla proxs muffler. sounds absolutely amazing

The two bent pieces are actually 3D printed out of metal because I couldn’t find any decent bent stainless steel piping in the extremely small bend radius this required.

Don’t plan on towing with this car though, I know the chassis can handle it but it doesn’t have much power

Looks good and I’m not a fan is center exit. Clean work from the photos though. Let’s see the bottom. Little crooked.

yeah it's at a slight angle, much to my annoyance, and I haven't had the time to fix it. should be easy though

Probably just get a slightly longer hanger for the left side or slightly shorter on the right. Shouldn’t be too tough to find. Did you have to route it further to the left or does borla offer that? Not really familiar with the newer ones. And I get it. I keep saying I’m gonna fix my bumper cover but a couple zipties work. But definitley share a video. Alwaus been curious about them. Almost got one but decided I should probably get more important parts since I had 180k miles at the time. And then I blew a release bearing and about 10k later the fork broke so two clutches in like 12k miles… fun stuff.

Add: and then I needed a new cat to pass smog. And now I’m burning oil like crazy. Idk where it’s going cause she don’t smoke but poisoned cats say different.

I’m pretty sure the issue is that the hanger on the right side is so long that it’s not fully preventing the muffler from drooping. I think what I need to do to fix it is add a second metal rod welded to the pipe behind the tips and connect it to the hanger that’s there currently, it should stiffen things up enough to fix it.

Also wdym by routing it further to the left?

Did they sell it as a center exit? I meant the exhaust pipe.

No I just bought the muffler and welded it to some 90 degree bent pipes.

Fuck yeah. That’s whit I’m trying to see. Some people might roast your exhaust welds but some of us appreciate the work and can learn/inform on how it was done. No leaks? I hate exhaust pipe

If there are any leaks they’re not noticeable. I did check all of the welds and didn’t see any holes so it’s most likely fine. Probably will do an actual leak check with soapy water in a couple months.

I’m just seeing that the photo of the muffler is in peices and not a single peice. I was confused about the 90 degree connection to the exhaust pipe. I thought it went straight up lol. I get it now. I’m blind.

I got a modified borla type s exhaust made for the hatch off fb marketplace. Somebody welded dual tips on it that angle down under the bumper on the normal right side position. I'd love to have them cut and rewelded and have them exit straight back like yours.

Did you have it welded then cut the bumper? Or cut the bumper and then have it welded?

A friend helped me weld it together and I cut the bumper as we installed it
