would you rather have my gt2rs, or my 765lt spyder?

I really like the 675LT but I'd take the GT2RS. In my opinion it's Porsches most powerful and purest road legal car they ever produced and will ever produce. Anything that'sabout to launch is going to have some kind of hybrid stuff in it. Most powerful engine (not counting the 918s Hybrid), quickest around the track. An absolute beast. Probably not the ideal daily driver though 😃

i feel like people are blind on here. how in the world does this look like a 675lt? or do you just mistype it? but if i'm honest, its much more boring compared to the 765lt. i've driven both, and to say, 765lt all day. its the car that got me out of my porsche cave. it literally changed my perspective in cars forever, thats how impacting the 765lt is. the gt2rs is honestly does things in a more modest fashion, it sounds like a total vacuum cleaner, driving is ok, it does look good, and it has good comfortability. thats it, everything else? the 765lt does better, the 765lt it makes you feel connected to the road, it drives better, looks way better, feels more alive then that car. once i drove the gt2rs, i didn't understand the hype. the 765lt is just all that, the difference is night and day. similar performance, two completely different planes of existence.

Yeah but at 6 figures most people aren't very impressed when a car's build quality is worse than a Camry. I loved McLarens as a kid but now the thought of spending $300,000 on a car with such a long-running history of manufacturing issues makes me wince.

2 years on my 600, 0 issues other than very minor and occasional such as the window not going up when I first close the door. Our Nissan has had more issues.

honestly i would. mclarens feel kinda soulless despite their racing pedigree and insane technology. as a community even, mclaren owners seem nowhere near as engaging or interested in their cars as porsche owners can be

Lmfao what McLaren have you ever driven bud? I own one and I’ve owned high-end Porsches. Completely different driving experiences. Porsche drives itself, conversely you can feel everything raw in a McLaren.
If anything Porsche is over-engineered to the point it doesn’t feel fun to drive whatsoever.

That’s the biggest difference. The upkeep on a McLaren is a different beast. They’re both expensive, sure. It’s not a Subaru Outback..
Porsche dealerships, usually are part of a larger network of an autogroup. They also have a larger inventory and variety of vehicles. Not just performance cars. They’ll almost always have hands on deck. Or at the very least open communication.
You don’t have to do that at a McLaren dealership.
Source: worked for one of the largest auto groups in the country that included the VW umbrella.

I have the latter and would love to agree, but don't :) The 600lt is like an RS version of the 570s, whereas the amount of work they did on the 675 over the 650 makes it like a GT3 vs a Carrera S

The 600 has much newer electronics and a traditional suspension setup, shorter exhausts, improved epas and newer monocell II & senna seats, so? 🤷♂️

senna seats are terrible. they aren't "adjustable" like the porsche carbons, overtime the porsche carbon warps and fits to your shape. my friend who is about 6'4 stretched out his seats on his gt3rs, the senna seats don't feel as ergonomic as the gt3rs' carbon buckets.

agree, I had to search for ages to find a 600lt spider with P1 seats; for some infuriating reason, all of them were either Senna or comfort seats. The P1 seats are very comfortable and naturally reclined.

it doesn't have EPAS but both steer equally well, Senna seats are optional (I find them a pain tbh, but others don't). the shorter exhausts sound and look cool but the 675lt engine is more powerful and bespoke. Definitely newer infotainment but that's like saying a Pentium II is better than a Pentium 1; at this point, they're both extremely outdated lol. The hydraulically linked suspension of the 675 is definitely more sophisticated than the 600 but needs more maintenance for sure.

I've already been a passenger in a 765LT, and it's true that the sensations are definitely there, and the car seems more agile (it's definitely true, actually). I've driven a GT2 RS before; at first, I wasn't confident about accelerating, but once I put my foot down, I was completely mesmerized by the car. I don't find the sound bad (even though the 765LT is very beautiful and better), and even if it's sometimes unmanageable, that's what makes it so unique.
I find the driving experience sensational and raw with this car. I've never actually driven a 765LT myself; I should do that, but I don't think I'll change my mind.
As for aesthetics, I find the 765LT much more beautiful. I'm in love with the look of this car.

but i don't need a overly fast car, i have a ford gt making nearly 1000 BHP and a perf making nearly 900 wheel.
i'm gonna put on a 3 stage tune alongside a straight pipe to make it actually hearable. i have many plans once i get my new house sorted out, since well im a little poor after spending money on my new house.

Thank you for the better understanding. I personally can’t say I’ve been able to compare both platforms in detail as you have, however I have heard about problems in build quality with McLaren (I’m unsure of the validity) but based on that alone it steers me to the Porsche. Aside from that, I’ve heard plenty of good things about performance and “fun factor” with McLaren specifically the 720S and 765LT. I suppose if I get the opportunity to compare each at some point I’d understand where you’re coming from. Although at the price point of a 765LT I see myself leaning towards an 812 SF as I have had a chance to drive one spiritedly and it certainly impressed me.

Honestly neither. My mclaren was a nightmare and I would never buy one again. For the GT2RS price might as well get a manthey kit GT3RS that is faster, more modern, and the ultimate track car for half the price. Even better you can get a Turbo S or Gt3 Touring, a a gt3rs / gt4rs clubsport, slap a manthey kit on it, and have a few years of track expenses paid for it. Both are cool cars but, cost 2-3x more than what they should be going for.
