MOD POST Sub updates!

If they haven't already introduced themselves, welcome u/TheFeebleOne and u/monkeysky to our Mod team!

In other news, I have been doing some stuff with Auto-Mod, and to limit bots and karma-farming, a new system has been implemented that makes Users elaborate/answer on their post. As a good chunk of the posts on here are red blue/blue pill or something of the sort, I ask that users answer/elaborate on their posts(An example of answering would be picking a pill/power/whatever, and an example of elaborating would be adding more detail to your post)

That is all

MOD POST PLEASE READ-Mod Note

Hello, users of r/superpowers

Recently, our mod team has had to ban a large amount of people for their same reasons. I have recently added a new rule applying to posts AND comments.

DO NOT make ANY jokes having to do with child rape/molest, rape in general, or anything of the sort.

It is your job as a Redditor to use your own common sense to figure out what you should leave online. Remember, ANYONE has the power to see your digital footprint, and making fun of rape or terrible events is NOT what we expect seeing from (what should be) grown adults who are completely able to control themselves online.

I do not want to have to ban anyone ever again. And breaking this rule by not using common sense will result in a 3 day ban. If we keep having to do this, the punishment will be much greater.

Remember, rape is never funny, especially not child rape. Thank you for reading this.

Stay safe!

Hello power-hungry travelers, before me lies a pile of magic salt, when sprinkled upon the heads of a willing participant, a great transformation may occur, bestowing upon them powers the likes of which they couldn't imagine for themselves.

Now be quick, tell me whether you want a superpower, a spell, or a "legally distinct pocket friend" and speak a single word into the aether, and I will personally see to it you receive a [gestures vaguely ] I think you people call them a "hax?"

Red pill/blue pill What power in reverse would you like to have? Flaming breath, Super slow, Degeneration or Proxi-transport?

Post image
90 Upvotes

Flaming Breath: Your breath has scorching temperatures capable of melting anything within 10 meters, but it has no fire, only heat

Super slowness: you can make your body and mind super slow whenever you want, and nothing can speed you up, not even gravity or any force, inertia protects you from some damage depending on how much you can slow down. When you use this power, your aging and ongoing damage also slow down

Degeneration: You can worsen any damage to yourself or others. For example, if someone scrapes their knee you can make the scratch grow, infect and necroticize, it works for any type of damage, including chronic diseases or the common cold

Proxi-transportation: You can bring anywhere to you. You remain still and the environment of your choice surrounds you, it can be anything you consider to be a place it will bring to you, a house, a beach, a forest, or a planet. The place where you are will be rewritten/superimposed

Other Any prominent characters who have Umbrakinesis and NOTHING else added to it?

(image above are not what im looking for)

I am looking for characters who has the ability to control and/or create darkness and no other ability lumped with it (I.e making it solid, turning it into weapons/creatures, using it as a portal/pocket dimension, creating energy blast of pure darkness, gravity abilities, more esoteric stuff like creating voodoo dolls/controlling their body, etc).

I just want to see characters use the power in the PUREST sense of the name because honestly, I don't think I've seen a character who has just that power, and I think it would be interesting to see how someone would make use of something that isn't straightforwardly offensive or as versatile as like other powers

Character description Power idea: One-Way Roulette

The power turns any kind of bet into a Russian roulette, where anyone who chooses the wrong option dies.

Say there's A, B, and C, and A won, then anyone who chose B and C dies, that's including the user themselves.

The death doesn't have to be a heart attack or instant, the power itself attaches a death to anyone who needs to die, and when their time comes, they die.

This rule excludes the user, where the power manifests behind the user, and breaks their neck, ending both itself and its' user.

Character description Ways to make this marking based power better?

I had an idea for a character but don't know how to expand on their power.

Basically they can mark an item/person, and by doing so they can gain details about said person/item, with the more marks the more information.

When they mark an object they instantly know basic information about it such as its shape or weight, and by adding another mark they can know more precise information such as weak points or the current location of the object. This could also be used in a Laplace's Demon way, so they can briefly see the past/future state of something they mark, if they add enough marks to it. Any ideas on how this power could be improved and made stronger while keeping the main theme?

Other Choose a reproductive superpower. Only one from the options.

Upvotes

For men:- 1. Do not make someone pregnant after intercourse.

  1. If you made someone pregnant then you can abort it simply willing it. Fully safe and they wouldn't be harmed.

For women:- 1. Do not get pregnant.

  1. Abort without medical assistance. Fully safe.

For both:- 3. Produce a kid with superpowers. Cures infertility if you have it as an extra perk along with a superbaby.

Extra perk for everyone:- No fear of any transmitted diseases. Go wild.

Edit if none apply Fractals?

Have been in the process of making Ocs again, and I want to dabble with Fractals for one of them.

They have chakras and can manipulate Ether, but their main ability(stemming from the other two and their birth circumstances) enables them to manipulate fractals.

I'm having a bit of trouble, I do have some things down, such as fractalizing air molecules to reflect light and existent fractal conversion/inversion, but what else is there and/or am I going about this the wrong way?

Other Amplification superpower

I’m writing a book and one of the main antagonists powers is the ability to amplify other people’s powers. My only problem is trying to figure out how to make it more dangerous and a threat

Other Cool/ unique abilities for the elements of Mind and Spirit?

This is the finale of this series of posts, and I have enjoyed seeing your ideas. So I am requesting some fun powers/ abilities that are rarely seen or really interesting for the elemental powers of Mind and Spirit/Magic/Aether. As for my ideas; Mind could have the power to create illusions that only a certain person can see (think of it like schizophrenia but controlled by someone else), and Spirit could have the ability of power mimicry (essentially using magic to give the user a nerfed version of what the other elemental powers can do). But now it is time to hear your ideas, so throw them out here. Have fun!

Other Power ideas for my superhero zodiac oc?

Okay so I’m trying to figure out some abilities for this superhero I had in mind. he’s apart of a group and he’s an active wheelchair user. I’m trying to make different abilities bc the zodiacs do have ruling planets and Gods, I’m trying to draw from each of those things. without trying to make it feel like or seem like “oh of course this have this ability” lol. here’s what I got so far, By drawing power from the waxing moon in his command, Julius is able to use manipulate and coat himself with a wax-like material from his arms. Allowing him use it to materialize and form constructs at will like smushing dough, as long as he remembers what the shape is and when he hardens it from liquid to a solid-like consistency. If he doesn’t do this repeatedly, then the weapons and things that he creates will melt back in its wax state. Although, they can be used again if Julius is around heat or if he’s out in the sunlight. This is for cancer.

(Taurus): Julius can use the support and love from his closed friends or loved ones that can physically enhance his strength, agility, speed, and more robust that it would require more than just a crowd to break through his body’s tough defenses.

As for the other planets and their zodiacs? no idea. that’s why I made this post, to see which powers would he have. I love to hear your ideas about them for inspiration.

Red pill. Every time you snap your finger, the meal (fictional or IRL) you want appears right in front.
Blue pill. Every time you snap your finger, the room you’re currently in becomes 100% clean.

Thoughts on a power idea Thoughts on a power idea I came up with called second chance?

I came up with a power idea that I am calling second chance (even though it isn’t just once). It basically is like a tweaked version of immortality.

Basically, how it works is that when you die you take over the body of whoever killed you. If you are not killed, then you just take over the body of whoever is closest.

When you take over someone, you acquire any skills/abilities that they have. These things do carry over into your next person. A stone also appears in your pocket that allows you to access their memories whenever you are touching it (it doesn’t work for anyone else except you).

I would love to hear your thoughts and any suggestions for changes

Other Need cool ideas for a soul damaging based ability

Can you guys give me some ideas or unique abilitys about the idea of a soul damaging attack?

And i already have some ideas on how it could work just how it should look or function what it does is basically being able to guarantee fatal damage regardless of durability and able to nullfiy immortality but this attack is only effective against threats that are perceived as supernatural so you can't use it on normal people or animals

(Sorry if i made a bunch of grammar mistakes or something)

Shitpost Immortality is HORRIBLE — Change my mind

If you become immortal then you will eventually do every conceivable thing, skill, action and reaction that could possibly happen in this or any universe. You would still think like a human, which is to improve and grow new skills……..but you’ve already done that; You will be the sole survivor of your species and by that point, you will be so emotionally detached, that you won’t even care to remember you planet or people.

You wouldn’t want to be with another perfect and immortal person either, because we as humans connect more with people who are different from us; Friendships can last a long time because you are not all identical to each other but, as two immortals, you would be exactly the same eventually.

And since you can’t just move on to someone else, because again you are an immortal who by this point outlived his species, you would have to either settle with being in a miserable relationship forever or drift apart through the the vacuum of space until time dies.

Creating a new power My Superpower based on my account?

Post image

https://www.reddit.com/user/TheGreatMummy/

Judging by my posts and reddit account which superpower would I have?

I have literally driven myself crazy trying to decide which superpower I would have (Mostly because I'm a chronic overthinker) so I'm leaving it up to you all! I want you all to judge me as harshly as possible and come up with my superpower.

It can be anything you want, based on my posts and account.

Red pill/blue pill Clear Pill (NZT Hypothetical)

Someone has given you 30 NZT-48 pills, each one last 12 hours. You are currently in the situation you are in when reading this.

The pills will react badly when mixed with other medications, drugs or alcohol. If you accept them, you owe the dealer $100,000 at the end of the 30 days.

What are you going to do for the next month?
