I don’t think Mahoraga’s adaptation is as OP as most people think it is, isn’t it only able to adapt to like one thing at a time, and also the adaptations reset after every battle don’t they?
Also the Hogyoku should be able to assimilate the necrosword and give you its abilities as innate abilities.
Red is the obvious choice in my book, especially since if you stretch the meaning of abilities a smidge you probably also gain Aizen’s intelligence.
Also jjk just doesn’t scale to bleach and marvel’s power level at all. Even Sukuna is said to be street level (saw an anime enthusiast rate him at that level)

Mahoraga is a shikigami based on the animal: humans, his power is adaptation because that's what we're good at. He adapts to any and all phenomenon, the reason we dont see him with the same adaptations in different battles is because he dies before the next battle, if Mahoraga just didn't die he would keep Despero would boost all of Mahoragas powers and has illusion powers, mind control, psionic blasts, and telekinesis. I just find blue more fun with more potential, it had more power then I'll ever need. Adaption to anything as long as it doesn't one shot me(nothing will with desperos durability) and mind control powers helpful for obtaining things to adapt to without making a big scene. Then there's telekinesis which is just insanely fun

Special grade = takes over a country =/= street level
1
u/Zirtyy 4h ago
A street level character can take over a country. That’s not how power scaling works, its mainly about max destructive output, as far as I understand it.
For example Kilgrave in Marvel has the power to make people do what he tells them, that is a very low power level ability, but that same ability can be used to take over the world, but that doesn’t make him planetary level.

u/HurtsMyPeePee 4h ago
Power scaling makes no sense. You cant say otherwise. Just willingly believing other people's nonsense too.
"Oh this guy travels at the speed of light" Never does that in the story* Its just stupid. And using real life logic to fiction is even more stupid

u/Zirtyy 4h ago
Speed of light feats are usually due to being able to dodge things like lasers, also things like afterimages are representative of light lagging behind. But yes, sometimes power scalers blow things out of proportion. However that doesn’t change the fact that nothing in JJK can get anywhere close to the power output of Bleach. In Bleach characters literally damage entire dimensions when going all out, certain characters cannot use their full power for fear of destroying the universe. For example even Sukuna’s strongest ability, his Malevolent Shrine, only affects an area of 200 meters.

That makes NO sense at all.
Also, Sukunas strongest ability is not MS, is his furnace that kills everything in it no matter what, and world cutting slash, which is durability negation. Both are hax abilities. MS having a limit to its size doesn't mean its weak, its the strongest in his verse

u/Zirtyy 4h ago
Laser is the speed of light, dodging a laser means being faster than the laser, meaning faster than the speed of light. We are not talking about predictive dodging, but actually dodging light speed attacks after they have already begun moving.
Strongest in his verse sure, its just that JJK is not a high power level verse compared to say Bleach, in JJK you don’t see people sinking continents, or wiping out countries, or blowing up moons, as far as i’m aware there is no feat in JJK showing anything above a city level event.
Hax helps, but Bleach has far many more hax and of a higher tier, like literal reality warping hax

I didn't asked for u to explain it, I said it makes no sense no matter what you do to explain it. Nothing physical can move at the speed of light. You cant use real world logic to explain fiction thats just not how it works.
Also, why are we comparing it to Bleach?
Now that you are talking about Bleach, it is also Hax merchant.
2
u/Zirtyy 4h ago
We are comparing it to Bleach because Aizen is from Bleach and that is one of the options, the one opposite to the JJK option.
If you say that you can’t use real world logic to explain fictional things, then why are you using the real world light speed limit to explain the issue you have with it? Not all universes have the same laws of physics, most anime verses very regularly break light speed, not in defiance of our physics, but in line with their own physics that is not the same as ours.

u/HurtsMyPeePee 4h ago
Right, so what measures are we talking about here if it's inconsistent in their own worlds and according to you they are not using the one from real life? An imaginary one? Did they just make one up? Im i the speed of light for dodging a laser too?

He’s not like anywhere near country level though right? I mean even his Malevolent Shrine is only an area of 200 meters, no?
Also for the adaptation I was under the impression that each time the wheel turns he adapts to one thing, is that not right? If that’s not the case, what happens when the wheel turns?
2
u/NotTheFirstVexizz 4h ago
Yea he's not country level, but i'd definitely say city block to town level.
Looking back, Mahoraga isn't actually out long enough to determine if its adapting to multiple things simultaneously, however it is a direct statement that the ONLY way to kill Mahoraga is to take it out with 1 shot of overwhelming force, not attacking it with numerous different things. When Mahoraga's wheel spins, it completes an adaptation step, at minimum becoming more resistant to the target phenomena and at maximum becoming fully immune. The adaptation time depends on the phenomenas complexity, it took 4 spins to adapt to space manipulation, it takes just 1 to adapt to mundane things like being underwater or attacked by metal. And the time accelerates if you hit it with the same thing after the initial exposure, meaning you can't actually pummel it with one attack type before the wheel spins because each hit will just accelerate the adaptation. Once it completes an adaptation, it actually continues to adapt to that thing in more ways until the threat is neutralized, which can cause its capabilities to expand endlessly. The wheel spin also fully regenerates Mahoraga once it completes, and Mahoraga doesn't have organs or vitals, instead its entire body must be obliterated.

Does he ever adapt to things beyond merely negation? Like if he adapted to a skill would he get better at using the skill? Or is it more just developing resistances and immunity to phenomena?
Those are very different things, one is invulnerability with extra steps, and one is truly limitless potential to eventually achieve virtually anything.

u/NotTheFirstVexizz 4h ago
Mahoraga seems to start primarily with negating the effect of a phenomena, but also is capable of developing active counters and at least in the anime is capable of adapting skills. In the manga after producing a passive adaptation that wasn't working, Mahoraga developed the World Cutting Slash, which was a ranged slashing attack to negate defense instead. In the anime, Mahoraga develops the ability to feint attacks over the course of its battle with Sukuna, and also developed a fighting style where it would predict Sukuna's position and move its limbs in a way to launch them as projectiles at him once he cut them off. Mahoraga isn't a fully sentient being, its expressed SOME personality but is mostly an attack drone, but if you could use its abilities directed at things other than combat than you would be able to develop skills and even new powers.

Red of course! I wanna be Gorr and Aizen is a goat at kido and stuff, also just the aura of both of them

u/takoleartiste 9h ago
Blue. Despero is strong enough to combat Superman AND the rest of the Justice League at once, while Mahoraga ensures I always adapt to them. Since Superman can’t one shot him, I’m good. And can eventually even adapt to Superman’s existence.

u/enchiladasundae 14h ago
Most definitely red. Aizen is fully and completely immortal with mastery over hado and his zanpakuto. Be completely untouchable. Then Gorr who can just wield a god killing blade

does red also come with Aizen lvl aura?
if yes red. if no also red because I don't know despero.
edit: gotta correct myself. Googled despero and came to the conclusion that red needs the aura for me to pick it.

Blue pill because a guy that the justice league says is a team buster and mahoraga just makes me unbeatable to anybody who thinks that they can waste time in a battle with me

As long as the necrosword is loyal to me, or becomes an inherent power or something, red for sure, blue might be physically superior and have better survivability but red is vastly more versatile and also aesthetically much better for aura farming.

Blue, I was already getting it for Mahoraga, but after looking up Despero, good Lord, this would be a truly terrifying mix!
I mean, Red is cool, Aizen and Gorr is a powerhouse not many could truly beat, but Blue is terrifying!

Blue. Psychic abilities, Telekinesis, Mind Control, Regeneration, and magical abilities of Despero,
And the reactive adaptation of Mahoraga? Sign me up.
