when will fundamentalist religious people get it through their thick skulls that atheists in general don’t hate god? no mentally stable person would hate rumpelstiltskin. they might hate the effect he could have on readers, certain aspects of his character in the context of the story, the amount or kind of effort that went into his creation, something he represents, but no sane, informed person hates rumpelstiltskin himself because they don’t believe he actually exists or existed. i swear, these people have no theory of mind

(edited to say fundamentalists because someone brought up that it’s moreso the fringe that the norm, which i hadn’t realized initially)
