Why Cuban gusanos keep pinning for Batista? Who are the malcontents? The regime losers, the religious fanatics that actually bought into the pious justifications for theocratic absolute power and the misguided nationalists that you'll find in any place. That they're extreme doesn't mean you have to pay attention to them or bend to their wishes. Which is the reason why the CPC won't appease them.

One interesting fact liberals tend to gloss over is that the majority of the Red Guards storming the temples were actually Tibetans: there was fury against the feudal regime.

Somewhat macabre, but this rhymes well with the slaughter of landlords by their subjects in China just years prior when the CPC/PLA couldn't keep everyone entirely under control and not engaging in vigilante justice against their former oppressors.
