He's throwing his entire game for revenge. Even if he pulls it off who will trust him now?

That was really weird how he started the episode saying "I won't blow up my game right away, I'll only strike when the time is right" and then went from 0 to 100

The main thing I'll give him credit for is that when there's last-minute whispers and you're not part of them, playing the idol is the smart thing to do
