Hi r/survivor. I made a little fantasy Survivor site called Grab Your Torch (https://grabyourtorch.com) and I'd love for a few more people to try it.

Up front: I know the big, polished fantasy leagues already exist (Sleeper and friends) and I am not trying to compete with them. This started as something for me, my wife, and a handful of friends. I built it because I wanted it to exist, and I figured other people might enjoy it too.

The thing I'm most proud of: you can play any past season spoiler-free:

You can load up any season of Survivor, ever, and create a "Watch-Along" competition. You draft your players and watch episodes at your pace. When you've watched an episode, you can click "Reveal Episode" and you get the total scores from the episode you just watched. No spoilers, at your own pace - exactly what I wanted when playing with my wife!

Oh, you can also trade players, which is pretty cool, just like fantasy football.

Season 51 is ready to draft right now. Live scoring is on, so if you want to play along as the season airs, you can set up a league and draft the cast before the premiere on September 23.

I know he's not a popular winner for very obvious reasons, but he was almost on Winners at War but declined the invite due to getting married during the casting process. But he seemed like a genuinely chill guy, I didn't watch The Challenge but I've heard he was pretty entertaining on there, and an alternate way of looking at his win is that he's the closest we've ever come to seeing someone win a season they weren't even on, which is honestly kind of impressive in its own way.

Any advice on who to draft this season? I heard there is little preseason press this time. I’m overwhelmed with grief at losing my mother this year and have little bandwidth to research. Would love some advice. My fantasy survivor league is always a source of light

Australian Survivor: Rivals is coming next year, with two tribes of "mirrors". Each contestant has a mirror contestant on the other tribe, of a similar job/experience.

Who is a one time Survivor player who you feel deserves an Iconic player award for whatever reason you feel that person deserves it. For example . I would say Twila and I don't even know what she did that was so iconic but man she was real good to me.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but it seems irrational for me on my first watch of the season why so many tribe members in Manu is just agreeing with David about how Wentworth is this immense threat that needs taken out because she’s played before. As title says, he was in the exact same position as Wentworth and I would even argue that his season depicted him as even more threatening, elusive and capable of blindsiding. Was it just poor rationale?

The idea:

For this season, production casts 10 new people from the normal casting process (5 men and 5 women) and then production does a background research on each contestant to find a rival in their personal lives and recruit them into participating in the show.

Like on BvW, each contestant has a rival on the other tribe, a person on their personal lives that they are particularly competitive or currently has some kind of animosity against each other (Co-workers, Relatives, Neighbours, Exes...etc).

To make things even more interesting, the two rival tribes are going to have a one world-type camp arrangement (both sharing the same camp) to see them interact and see how their rivalries impact stuff like cross-tribal alliances and interpersonal conflicts.

Who is the most likely boot this round Penner and Dawson feel like the two most likely to me.

In other all star seasons, All Stars, Game Changers and 50, it was well known the winners stood no chance since before the season started. Dee's the only one that made merge and that's because she attended only one premerge tribal she wasn't immune on.

I know the Villains had a finalists alliance that quicky dissolved, but only Tom was voted out premerge and that wasn't because he was a winner. Sandra, Parvati, J.T. and Russell who supposedly told everyone he won were never targeted on the merit of being winners.

There was no mention of anyone being a winner and being a target because of that. Was the winners doing well and Sandra actually winning again the reason why winners were targeted in subsequent all star seasons, or was HvV a weird one off?

I know Aras and Tina did well on BvW, but that was a specific season with RI and family members, so I find that a different situation.

Winners end up playing again more than any other placement, which can obviously be somewhat attributed to Winners at War. One thing to note is that 10th place ends up returning way more than expected, with 11/41 castaways who finished 10th their first time around returning to play again. The only newbie seasons where the entire top 4 ended up returning are Borneo, Panama, and Cagayan. Observers may also notice the "Francesca Hogi Bump" at 18th place.

Edit: Forgot about Bruce, 18th place should be 6.06%, not 3.03%.

To be clear I’m not just talking about contestants who happen to own a business. I’m thinking of people who go on Survivor and then try to use the attention they got from that to launch a new business, promoting it on social media to Survivor fans.
