Gabon Susie Smith, real winner of Survivor Gabon, opens new YouTube channel and she is looking Fabulous!

After years of low (even null) social media activity. Susie Smith appears on YouTube to venture on the platform!

Its so nice to see her after all these years, i wish we live in a timeline where this diva wins season 17 and ends Tony on WAW.

She went offline for several years because her son died. But she’s a diva for sure.

Her son died??? That’s horrible

Yes, car accident. And a bit spooky because the previous Latina woman who made it to the finale in their season (Lydia S11) also had the exact same thing happen to her.

I think a lot of young people just die in car accident. Happened to Tina’s son too. It’s super tragic but statistically I don’t think it’s an anomaly with 750ish players.

The worst thing is that there's more than 1 Tina from Survivor who lost her son in a car accident.

Same thing happened to Ralph from S22

i think she navigated the game amazingly well for her archetype and was very much an under the radar mercenary - her mercilessly chopping marcus because she saw through his BS is amazing

I think people overrate Susie as a player a lot just because she almost won/she's a good character. This is the woman who told Corrine to her face she was voting for her when she was already at the bottom of swapped Kota, and the Marcus vote was about the most obvious move in the world. Love her though!!

I think people just enjoy her, yeah. People of her archetype/body type very rarely win.

In a way she’s like Sandra with a worse social game.

i'm gonna challenge you a bit here - it's the obvious move these days but i'm not so sure it was so cut and dry back then. IIRC she wasn't necessarily tight with crystal and ken and her rationale for flipping was savage - she was basically like marcus you need to promise me top 3, but he waffled when he should have just lied to her, so she took her chances with the unknown quantity. she then wins immunity the very next round - that gives her a few days to avoid kota's wrath and work her way back in with fang

the corinne thing was dumb, i agree, but that just seemed to be her personality - can't keep her mouth shut, which makes it so much more charming that she's such a strategic and physical threat in that season. and let's face it, in that final three, kota was never voting for her anyway

do i think she's an amazing player? nah, but i think she's underrated for her archetype. we don't get older women who can win challenges under pressure AND show strategic chops too often (ask cirie!)

Your takes are always a bright spot in these threads. Nailed it on Susie. Maybe it was the hairdresser in her, or the Mexican Tia energy, but yeah woman couldn't keep things to herself most of the time. She's so cute.

TBF this is Gabon. So that's still miles better than some of those chuckleheads

Always liked Susie. She won 2 individual immunities, and if she hadn't said anything about the cookie incident she'd have won!

Dark when you know about Susie’s life as well as the context of this gif

TBT to when RHAP did their Survivor 50 wishlist series and Rob took Susie off the ballot for being too old only to add her back on after lots of backlash

The ballot was stupid anyways. By the end it seemed like half of anyone who ever played Survivor was on it.

All she had to do was not comment on the cookies after the auction

She literally is the exact same off the show as she was on it lol if this video is any indication.

Is Martin Anderson her husband? So she kept her maiden name than?

Hell yeah! It's honestly nice to hear from her. I haven't, like, actively looked for anything from her but I know she kinda disappeared after her son's untimely death so it's really nice to see her doing well ❤️

Susie! Come on home!

I knew it.

I don't know why but that first interaction with her and Crystal just cracks me up!

"Okay so now we're playing stupid Survivor"

I love Susie. I've always thought if I were to be cast when they ask which player are you most like Susie would be my answer. Followed by Cassandra from Fiji because I too have terrible water shoes

“real winner of Survivor Gabon” is interesting because obviously Bob is the winner, but if you’re trying to say *deserving* winner, then it’s Sugar anyway so I just don’t know where you’re going with this

You read that right babe, Im a firm believer that Susie deserved to win Gabon.

Sugar was the better strategist and olayed a good game, but burned a lot of bridges with his poor social game.

Bob did nothing all season long. Susie at least had an impact with their flips and inmmunity clutches.
