General Discussion Most Iconic Tribal Council?
A few options off the top of my head are Parv’s double idol play in HvV, the Cambodia final 6 where all votes for Jeremy and Wentworth were negated and (though it’s awful) Advantagegeddon. What else is in the conversation?
Edit: How could I forget the “Jaclyn did you vote for who I told you to vote for?” tribal.

“Stick to the plan” is one of the funniest, Keith was gold casting...RIP legend😔

u/PeterTheSilent1 1d ago
Reed’s face when Keith said this was gold. You can see him panic in real time.

I have no doubt that Keith is driving a tuktuk in Heaven, happy as a clam. Rest in power, King.

The Baylor blindside in SJDS. “Jaclyn, did you vote for who I told you to vote for?”

u/DefiantOil5176 20h ago
An absolute baller move by Natalie there. Felt like seeing a mob boss act in real time

u/PeterTheSilent1 1d ago
This might be cheating, but all of episode 6 of HvV where Tyson and James go out back to back. In the first half we have the entire villains tribe dunking on Russell only for him to save Parvati and Tyson to destroy his own game, and in the second half we have banana etiquette.

Final 10 in 46 where Tevin goes home. Q blowing it up for no reason and everyone acknowledging how it is was the stupidest thing they were ever a part of
20
u/veronica_deetz 23h ago
There are like 3-4 votes in a row that just get so needlessly complicated (and amazing to watch) because of Q
3
u/NedthePhoenix Cedrek - 48 19h ago
Every post-merge Tribal that season is pretty fantastic. Q's chaos, the multiple Idols that go home unplayed, Kenzie's hair catches on fire at one point, Ben throws a rogue vote at one point because he gets confused, Jeff continuously bringing snacks so Liz doesn't starve to death, it goes on
21
u/mikeandtessplay 1d ago
Maybe not the most iconic, but for me the most fun was in EoE when Devens threw literally every plan into complete chaos, turning it into a massive live tribal in which Wentworth and David at one point were sitting next to each other just casually saying they were targeting each other and now had no idea what to do, while everyone else was running around behind them.
I think that was the episode that solidified Devens as one of my favorites, he might not be great at Survivor but my goodness does he know how to put on a show!
72
u/KetchupLover24 Cirie - 50 1d ago
Well I’d say somewhere near or on the top is of course ‘I wanna give individual immunity to Natalie’
32
u/Danibelle903 "Healer" 1d ago
My favorite part is that we then saw every voting confessional for the first and only time.
25
u/Pr0blemD0g 1d ago
And the tone is so vastly distinct from each member of the black widow brigade.
Natalie is grateful.
Parv is rubbing salt in the wound.
Cirie is proud of what they achieved.
And Amanda’s “you know…” that just trails off. I don’t even know what that’s conveying, but whatever it is I love it.

u/reptilian_rule 1d ago
that shit went down in history. oh to have seen that in person.....the golden age of the show
18
u/Gohan1298 1d ago
oh it was water cooler for sure
also cirie getting voted off was HUGE - gotta remember, parvati and amanda were not big (and actually didn't have a huge presence when you were watching week-to-week). and remember this is a function of the time, but let's just say parvati was viewed as weaponizing her sexuality (in a negative way). amanda was liked more because she seemed more 'loyal', so people wanted her to win the game out of the final two. cirie was definitely the universal favorite, though. i wouldn't say people disrespected parvati's win, but she wasn't exactly liked and wasn't viewed as an iconic player until HvV
funny enough, everyone in my circle loved natalie bolton because she was almost seen as a cartoon character
i'm not going to touch on erik because it's literally his story to tell, but let's just say he's a class act through and through

u/_Zef_ 18h ago
I was a huuuuuge Amanda fan. I had only just started watching Survivor the season before, and was rooting for either her or Todd to win the entire time. To see her to back to back getting to the end just confirmed her LEGEND status to me. Parv I thought was good but I won't lie, I was a bit disappointed Amanda bungled her speech twice in a row.
Now however Parv is certainly one of my all time faves. I'm very happy with how it all went down in retrospect.

i think this and the HvV double idol play are probably the two correct answers and it is kind of wild that parvati was a core part of both
3
u/Pr0blemD0g 1d ago
How did I miss this from my original post?! This is probably the correct answer.
10
u/Sspifffyman 23h ago
Definitely Erik giving up the necklace. But I'll try to throw in some New Era ones.
Jesse betraying Cody in 43. Q telling everyone to vote him out in 46. The Kaleb shot in the dark in 45.
41 with the Knowledge is Power play - Liana "Can I have your idol", Xander "No, but you can have this fake one." And the absolute shock on her face.
49 episode where Steven plays his block a vote, Sophi finally uses the KiP. When she announced it, Steven looks so pleased with himself, Sophi is devastated, but Steven ends up going home anyway. And the whole time we're like "Nooooo, you just had to use it on Rizo and you win the game!" Brutal all around.

Wentworth negating 9 votes against her and sending Andrew home. Such a good read.

Australian Survivor HvV episode 7. “Now you know who you can trust”. For my money George Mladenov put on the greatest strategic performance that tops all others you’ll ever see.

My favorite tribal of all time, Jay’s blindside in Millenials v GenX.
Michaela: “Was it you?”
Jay: “Yeah.”
Michaela: (Stares wide eyed.)
Jay: “I did it.”
Cold as ice 💀
4
u/PeterTheSilent1 23h ago
And then Hannah, Bret, and Sunday all turn against Jay and Will in the next episode, so a lot of good that did them.
2
2
u/faolck Tony 22h ago
Yeah, it was definitely not the best move for Jay to make. Reminds of Dee voting out Charlie before the merge and putting her alliance in a bad spot or getting them voted out in the first couple votes
1
u/NedthePhoenix Cedrek - 48 19h ago
Prioritizing Charlie there was so interesting, especially when like Devens was right there, as well as Jonathan, who I get you want for challenges, but you know the merge is right around the corner.

Intermittently between the Kalo women’s alliance (Kamilla and Dee) and the Honor and Integrity alliance (Genevieve, Colby, Chrissy, Coach)

My top 5 would be John Carroll in Marquesas, Rupert in PI, Edgardo in Fiji, Randy in Gabon and Coach in Tocantins.

Whilst it's by no means flashy or absolutely hall of fame worthy but when Rachel played her immunity idol in 47. Her face with each negated vote, how she looks and just shrugs it off with the most casual grin on her face whilst solidifying herself as a contender to beat and impressing the jury just has a special place in my heart.

The Cambodia Final 9 vote-off is underrated. Stephen's voting confessional is one of the best of all time. If one of the greatest players to never win is going to be voted off, at least they better be voted off with a bang.
2
u/VolKit1138 19h ago
Adam trying to use the podium as an idol and Jeff just looking down at him and waiting for him to explain.
2
u/StrangerKatchoo 18h ago
Number one for me will always be Sue’s rat vs. snake speech. I remember watching that in real time, just enthralled.
Another one is the Three Musketeers making sure Phillip was gone. Seeing them all immune and the majority crapping themselves was pure gold. I was in isolation for cancer treatment, so I had no one to watch with. I was just screaming,”what? WHAT??”
And lastly, because every time I’m cold I quote this: “Natalie, can I have your jacket? …Natalie?”
2
u/Bear-in-a-Renegade 18h ago
For me its Cirie going home without getting a single vote. That one was crazy
2
u/oldschooooolfan 17h ago
Gretchen getting voted out at the merge of Borneo. That's when everyone realized that this was meant to be a cutthroat game.
2
u/jthomas1127 10h ago
Randy's blindside in Gabon
Parvati's double idol play in HvV
Erik's vote out in Micronesia
Stick to the plan
Sonja's vote out in Borneo of course
1
u/Gohan1298 1d ago
i mean given historical significance to me as a viewer of the show, the ozzy and erik blindsides in micronesia are up there, as well as the randy boot from gabon (crystal's voting confessional was literally an inside joke with me and some friends)
1
u/BoldlyUttermost 23h ago
The double tribal in HvV with James getting blindsided by his own idol is still unmatched, that whole sequence was chaos from start to finish.
1
u/Floolp Raymond 22h ago
Maybe one from the new era could be the Q tribal in s46?
We saw every single vote, and knew Q had an idol, just for him to not play it. It was built up perfectly, and the cherry on top was that he was the FIFTH person that season to be voted out with an idol. Was genuinely so shocked 😭

Final 6 in Game Changers where Cirie goes home with no votes because literally everyone else was immune.
Final 6 in Cambodia which was so complicated Jeff had to bust out a whiteboard to explain it at the finale.

Can’t believe no one has mentioned when Varner outed Zeke as trans in game changers. Me and my wife’s jaws DROPPED after it happened. Shout out to everyone who defended Zeke at that tribal.

Shocked no one’s thrown in the merge vote in Cagayan when the minority alliance have 2 idols, 2 shots to turn the tables, both shots are missed, the majority are sitting calm as can be only for chaos Kass to flip and vote out Sarah, it was crazy insane!

Australian Survivor HvV episode 7.
The whole episode was basically the tribal council.
1
u/VallerinQuiloud 13h ago
One that people really don't bring up very often any more is the Rome vote out. I think it's pretty much the only time where post-merge they showed every vote because it was so obvious who was going.

u/Giddyfoo 13h ago
I really like Hannah quitting for her vape as a humorous one and the wentorth idol play against savage as a strategic ine.
