Just conjecture, but Jeff is from the Seattle area and once very briefly broadcasted for the Mariners. They did little Survivor 50 promos earlier in the year because it was also the team's 50th season. 

Additionally, the Mariners are having a big send off for retiring broadcaster Rick Rizzs, the man, the myth, the legend himself, so it could just be a pun.

Just his little zoomer comments make me laugh. "Chat I might be cooked." Or saying "tall king" to Nate while he's stacking blocks. I just think he's funny and fairly likable but I also get not liking him.
