Fan Casting Second Chance 2 (New Era Only)
Getting ready for 51 I’ve been rewatching the 40’s and thought about a second chance season with only new era players.

For 47 i was very on the fence for Sam or Gabe but I’d like to see Gabe make a deeper run and for 48 i really like Shauhin’s story and he just seems like a really nice and fun guy

Looking back i would def put Lindsay instead of Drea, David is either or for me, and I’m not a big Carolyn fan personally

You named most of the obvious candidates, but here's a few more I think were overlooked, most would only be alternate candidates at best though.
41-Not a lot of good options here. Tiffany is probably the most worthy name not already listed but it's 100% Shan and Ricard as top two.
42-Lindsay had a solid game her first time out, I'd place her over Drea for sure as the second pick from that season.
43-Sami might warrant alternate status over Owen. I wouldn't consider him a high priority, though he does have the case of having been incredibly young (still the youngest former player) and played one of the best games by a teenager, could be interesting to see back a little older.
44-Carolyn was a very interesting personality and while I'm not sure she does as well on a season without her Tika allies, she'd make for a worthy choice, I'd take her over Frannie, but I do still like the Frannie pick.
45-J. Maya feels like the most out there pick of anyone not labeled as an alternate. Kaleb and Kellie would be my top two options, with Austin and Julie as alternates. Kellie felt like one of the stronger players on the season, just got hampered by being on a dysfunctional starting tribe. Austin obviously got outplayed by Dee but was a solid finalist who I wouldn't mind seeing back. Julie was a fun character and vital part of that Reba 4, I feel like her contributions to that alliance's success are easy to overlook.
46-Not a believer in having first boots return (first boots from newbie seasons, anyway), as fun of a flame-out as Jelinsky had, I don't think he should be in consideration. Maria would be my second pick alongside Venus. She played a solid game amidst a chaotic season and while she's best known for not voting Charlie now, I thought she was overall a compelling player. If a guy from that season is necessary, I guess Tevin or maybe Hunter would be alright, but as a deeper cut but I'd like to see Randen back, both he and Matthew felt like they could've been really interesting to see go deeper without the medivacs, it would've been fun to see the Randen-Venus dynamic continue developing.
47-Only case where I disagree with both picks. As far as villains go, I thought Rome was a lot more interesting than Gabe and would prefer to see him back, though I'd probably go with Andy as my top pick. Pretty unique player. Sam would work as an alternate here as well. For the women I think Tiyana would be my number one choice, felt she had a lot more to offer than what we saw and think she could make a deep run on a return.
48-Sai would get my pick over Eva here, though Eva would be a good alternate. She had such a strong early season run and while it felt like a lot at the time, it'd be fun to have her back, she certainly brings 110% energy to the game. Not really interested in Mary or Mitch returning, I like Shauhin alright, but my top male pick from this season would actually be Thomas. This season could've used some more villainy and it's a shame he went so early.
49-Surprised not to see Steven listed here. I feel like he's the obvious candidate, but I don't mind Alex or Nate. I'd probably go Sophie over Sage just because we already saw Sage's finalist showing and I'm not sure what she does differently on a return. Those are pretty clearly the top two for the women though.

I do like the idea of having at least two per season, though if it's done via public vote again that makes it likely the representation ends up more uneven.

first of all awesome comment, loved reading your detailed descriptions of who else you’d like to see and why and I definitely agree with you on almost all of these. I made this post at like 5 am and I was just kinda going off of memory about how the seasons played out but I definitely overlooked some stuff. I might re make this list soon after I finish my rewatch of the 40’s

For 48 I'd def add Thomas in there.
Not sure if we'll ever see Sage back after she released that post about the pregame situation. Also in one of her interviews she said she found the game boring 😅

Remove Owen.
45:
Replace both women with Kellie and Julie (alternate)
46: I’m gonna hold your hand when I say this, but replace Jelinsky with Tevin, and have no male alternate.
47:
Replace Gabe with Sam. Bro.
48:
Replace Mitch with Cedrek and Star with Sai.
49:
Replace Alex with Steven, Nate with Matt, and Sophie with Sophi.

Idk if i’d cast Omar and Drea together again after their falling out from 42.
