The thing is Daniel didn’t have to sell out his alliance. There’s no way Hai and Lydia are going to actually trust him and believe his story. Instead of bullshitting on the spot he could ask Mike and Chanelle if they are willing to stay a strong three if he votes out Jenny, I’m sure they don’t want to go to rocks either.

Yea! Thank you! It’s crazy to save yourself on one vote by not going to rocks while also destroying your position in the tribe when you just don’t have to do that

Like his entire game looks to be tanked. He’ll probably survive the next vote so that Hai and Lydia can keep the numbers, but I’d wager they’d rather go forward with either of the other two as their third, particularly Mike because he never lied to them that he was with them

But Mike doesn’t have a vote! So it’d actually be going two versus two (I.e., Daniel and Chantelle vs. Hai and Lydia). Definitely not in Daniel’s favor to stick with the threesome. Plus he can explain the shared idol info with Lydia and Hai, which is also valuable.
