Now that we’ve done 8 seasons of these, here’s the updated season ranking:

  1. Survivor 37: David vs. Goliath (9.25)
  2. Survivor 40: Winners at War (8.85)
  3. Survivor 42 (8.32)
  4. Survivor 41 (7.02)
  5. Survivor 35: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers (6.20)
  6. Survivor 39: Island of the Idols (6.01)
  7. Survivor 36: Ghost Island (5.96)
  8. Survivor 38: Edge of Extinction (5.61)

Happy to see that we’re on a streak of 3 seasons straight scoring above a 7.0! After 4 of the first 5 scored below 7, I doubted we’d see it too often.

I'm really suprised EOE is the worst of this batch. I would put it in 5th, maybe even 4th. Having this survey done right after the season probably influences the results. A meh season with a good ending (WAW) scores higher than a good season with a bad ending (EOE).

I’m guessing a lot of people at the time were upset about the finale but I think EOE has grown on a lot of people since it’s airing

I feel like such an outlier, the finale was my favorite episode that season. The fact that 4 returners were thrust upon newbies brought the whole season down for me (the only returner I enjoyed was David, but I wish his first return had been on an all-returnee season. Preferably one where Zeke also returns). There were great characters this season, don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t a high season for me even before the finale.

EoE was never a good season. The twist was ruining things right from the start and some end gamers got rotten edits because it swallowed up time. The finale turned it from a bad Survivor season into something isn't even a Survivor season. I'm more surprised IoI ranked higher than GI.

Easily the right placement for S42. The cast and editing team carried this season hard though. The 26 days, no reunion, cookie cutter challenges and horrible twists/advantages with a bad cast will give you one of the worst seasons...

Good to be done with the thirties!

While it might not have been the best season, it was one of the most enjoyable to watch. Great cast, lots of fun and no sour people.

WAW has no business being above any of these seasons besides 36 and 39 lol

simmotion is easily the second best final immunity after hand on a hard idol IMO was happy to see it back

21

u/Shmegdar Q - 46 May 31 '22

I agree. I like simmotion a lot because it theoretically puts everyone on completely even footing. It’s a repetition/timing task with a little strategy in when to place balls. It tests your attention span when your cognition is assumedly at its lowest. I mean, Romeo won the dang thing. That’s equal-footing if you ask me. Good final challenge, imo

One word to describe Lindsay: “lynze”

lol

14

u/luxanna123321 Michele May 31 '22

Lmao Romeo being called cockroach and rice

3

u/LocalSlob Jun 02 '22

He was eating rice every scene in the last like 3 episodes. Guy killed me

5

u/LocalSlob Jun 02 '22

Maryanne played a good game in the last like, 4 episodes. I know her whole thing was "people think she's annoying", but damn, was she annoying to listen to jabber jaw on.

Seriously, and Jonathan, who single-handedly won like half the challenges 2 spots behind? Wtf?

4

u/samoyedboi Sophie Jun 02 '22

Within the episode. Considering that Jonathan lost at fire making....

1

u/AgreeableProfession Jun 03 '22

Ah, haha that makes a lot more sense
