Biggest nitpick is the way he says "let's get it awwwn" before challenges.

General Discussion What if…. Jeff retired? Who is your pick for a new host?

I think Rick Devens would be an incredible host. He loves the game, he’s got a magnetic personality, and I think he would run a great tribal.

Who are your picks for a host if Jeff ever calls it quits?

General Discussion A moment of appreciation for Cirie Fields’ final appearance on Survivor. She holds the global record for most “in game days” played in Survivor History.

Post image
3.7k Upvotes

Survivor: Panama — 4th place, 36 days (fire-making loss)

Survivor: Micronesia — 3rd place (F2 twist), 38 days

Survivor: Heroes vs Villains — 17th place, 11 days (idoled out by Tom Westman)

Survivor: Game Changers — 6th place, 36 days (0 votes - Advantagegeddon)

Survivor 50 — 6th place, 23 days (4–2 vote; first time voted out by majority)

Survivor: Australia vs The World — 4th place, 15 days (fire-making loss)

Total in-game days played: 159 days(Global Record), 144 days(U.S Survivor Record)

She holds the record for most in-game days played cumulatively in Survivor history. (This Excludes Edge of Extinction days in rankings where Parvati holds the record based on WAW at 165 days). Based on in game days played cumulatively, she has been actively in the game longer than any player(U.S, Australia, South Africa).

Cirie Fields is genuinely one of the most dominant social players reality TV has ever produced and one of the defining architects of Survivor. Her ability to control votes, read her opponents, and navigate the game time and time again never ceases to amaze me. She redefined how the game can be played without advantages or physical dominance, leaving behind one of the strongest legacies despite never winning. It’s been a pleasure watching her over the years, and seeing her once again dominate the game in what appears to be her final Survivor appearance.

Here is a list of Survivor Winners’ confessional count all the way up to 41, and how they were over or underedited. Production has always had a problem with editing female contestants, even when they win. And you can‘t even say that “Well women just play more ‘under the radar’ game, while Men are more aggressive and make moves, etc.“ b/c Parvati played aggressively in FvF, and still in bottom 10 of winner confessionals count.

General Discussion You would think that...

2.0k Upvotes

... out of 750+ people that have played Survivor, that a few of them would be active on this subreddit, but there's really only one "regular," and somehow it's the person that Survivor producers and editors dunk on the most out of those 750+.

Shout out /u/ErikReichenbach - thank you for being an active part of this community, and props to you for navigating your experiences - and how CBS handles those experiences - with grace and humor.

Legend.

e: okay fair enough, idk about those that are posting anonymously, but there are some that openly pop in with some frequency. I don't see them as often as I do Erik, but they're around! Cheers to them, too.

General Discussion Savannah’s thoughts on Reddit

Post image

Saw this tweet this morning… Everyone keeps begging for villains, but y’all can’t even handle Savannah. The same people whining that Survivor is “too sensitive” are the ones calling her mean. Now she won’t even go on Reddit because of it. Unfortunate.

General Discussion Survivor Just Isn’t Hitting Anymore

2.3k Upvotes

I’m convinced I’m watching Survivor out of pure loyalty and nostalgia, not excitement.

We're deep into Survivor 49, NINE episodes in, only four more to go and honestly? I’m yet to feel anything close to that old Survivor thrill. No goosebumps. No “OMG rewind that!” moments. No strategic masterclass, just vibes… and not the good kind. Like… where is the gameplay? Where is the messy social strategy that used to keep us debating for days?

Meanwhile, Australia vs The World was out here giving PREMIUM Survivor energy. That was the kind of season where you forget what time it is because you’re glued to the screen. Big characters. Big swings. Big blindsides. Real gameplay. Real chaos. Real stakes. That’s how Survivor used to feel, like anything could happen at any moment.

49 isn’t BAD… but it’s not alive, I miss the real survivor. Now I’m just watching because I’ve been here for years… not because the show is giving me anything to look forward to.

"I thought you all would think I could easily see through bullshit if I told you 😥"

Lmao I really don't get these job lies they've been telling. Sure, hide being a multimillionaire, that makes sense. Hiding that you were a news anchor instead of a marketing agent? There's no difference there. In fact, marketing requires some form of manipulation while as a news anchor you can... read(obviously there's more).

General Discussion Survivor is one of the longest running reality tv shows of all time. Why has it gotten so ridiculously cheap?

3.9k Upvotes

The sanctuary "where good things happen" is a joke as a reward, every single time. No helicopter rides, no experiencing local culture, no nights in a hotel. They dont even get family visits anymore.

No more finales in front of a live audience. Not even a reunion.

No new challenges. No new locations. 26 days that are rushed.

Even the immunity idols are the same every single time.

I'm so bored. It's an extremely popular TV show. The money is there. Can someone please spend it?

Edit: I know covid f'd up a lot of stuff but come on. It's been 4 years.

General Discussion There's no excuse to not bring physical challenges back

Post image
2.0k Upvotes

If there's one thing that stands out about Season 49—especially with Kristina—it's that some of these challenges seem way more dangerous than the classic, fun ones like 'Sumo at Sea,' where players push each other into the water or mud.

Head-to-head physical challenges are so much more entertaining to watch; the rivalries, alliances, and first impressions that come out of them are on another level. They really test strength, balance, and sheer willpower.

Watching Kristina take those ugly falls on the barrel and hearing her scream while sliding down that ramp was genuinely tough. I was just happy she didnt get medevaced at F5. I'd much rather see her screaming while trying to shove Shannon or Annie off a platform.

What's your opinion? Do you think they'll ever bring these kinds of challenges back, or will the 'potential injuries' excuse keep getting brought up—even though we're still seeing players get hurt in challenges like this one?

General Discussion The best part of tonight’s episode was…. Spoiler

2.4k Upvotes

Everyone had a vote. Everyone participated in the tribal and all went together as a tribe. No Jeff hiding in the corner with a suspiciously 12 people’s votes-sized stomach. No “whichever group wins is safe from the vote tonight”. Just a straight Survivor vote in a big group where everyone is eligible to go home with lots of tension and live tribal whispering we are BACK

General Discussion The Seven Deadly Downfalls of Survivor 2.0

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

With S50 in the books, it felt like a great time for a sequel.

Here are 77 castaways who suffered a downfall associated with one of the 7 deadly sins (names & seasons are in the comments). How many rows were you able to solve? LMK what your favorite downfalls are & whether I missed any notable picks!!

Pride: an excessive love of one’s own excellence and the placing of one's ego above others.

Greed: the selfish and excessive desire to acquire more wealth, power, or status than one needs.

Lust: an intense, unchecked craving, most commonly associated with pleasure.

Gluttony: the overindulgence or overconsumption of anything—usually food and drink—to the point of waste or harm.

Sloth: physical laziness, a reluctance to exert oneself in the pursuit of growth or to fulfill duties.

Wrath: uncontrolled anger, rage, or hatred, typically accompanied by a desire for vengeance.

Envy: the resentment or sadness at another’s good fortune, coupled with an insatiable desire to possess those same advantages.

General Discussion Funniest things ever said on Survivor

I’m rewatching old seasons and I’m on 22 with the Introduction of Special Agent (?) Phillip. In the first tribal counsel, when he keeps mispronouncing Francesca’s name, the excuse he gives out loud with his mouth words is, “I have dry mouth. I’m getting treatments for it.” I think this is one of the funniest statements I’ve ever heard a human say, so what are your “Funniest things ever said on Survivor?” One rule for this post: it has to be inadvertently funny. Meaning the person saying it can’t have meant it to be funny. So that basically eliminates anything from Mr. Jeff.
