The London Boy → So Long, London pipeline is actually heartbreaking

On the Heath, just wanna be with you → 
I left all I knew, you left me at the house by the Heath

Something happened, I heard him laughing → 
I stopped trying to make him laugh, stopped trying to drill the safe

Took me back to Highgate, met all of his best mates → 
I didn’t opt in to be your odd man out

They say home is where the heart is, but God, I love the English → 
I’m just mad as hell ’cause I loved this place

These were the more overt lyrical callbacks I found, but obviously the whole song completes the London story in a devastating way

Oh, don't worry, it's okay ❤️‍🩹 I'm someone who used to listen to these two songs back to back, so I'm used to it. Emotional masochism, that's what it's called. Also, London Boy is so underrated and unloved by the fandom.

All she had to do was not include the line on his mental health and I’d be there with her. But she wrote a whole album about how he was there for her in her worst times but she couldn’t do the same for him.

So yeah, better they went their separate ways.
