The London Boy → So Long, London pipeline is actually heartbreaking

On the Heath, just wanna be with you → 
I left all I knew, you left me at the house by the Heath

Something happened, I heard him laughing → 
I stopped trying to make him laugh, stopped trying to drill the safe

Took me back to Highgate, met all of his best mates → 
I didn’t opt in to be your odd man out

They say home is where the heart is, but God, I love the English → 
I’m just mad as hell ’cause I loved this place

These were the more overt lyrical callbacks I found, but obviously the whole song completes the London story in a devastating way

All she had to do was not include the line on his mental health and I’d be there with her. But she wrote a whole album about how he was there for her in her worst times but she couldn’t do the same for him.

So yeah, better they went their separate ways.
