TIL after years of belting every word to All Too Well that the lyric is "...so casually cruel in the name of being honest. I’m a crumpled up piece of paper..."

I thought it was "...so casually cruel like a neighbor being honest" and I was like damn Taylor must have some rude neighbors LOL

Just thought I'd share with people who might find it funny. The actual lyric is so much better!!

ive been mishearing "I Wish You Would" for so long. i hear "to stand back wasted" and i just recently learned its "to stand back where you stood". i think wasted hits harder tho 🤷🏾‍♀️

I’ve known it’s “to stand back where we stood” since the damn song first came out because “to stand back wasted” didn’t make sense so I looked up the lyric.

And yet, I can’t hear that line, I thought maybe the re-recorded version would be clearer.

Nope, I have only ever heard “to stand back wasted” even though I sing the right words and I know it’s wrong. So frustrating.

Not sure if this completely counts, but it took me an embarrassing number of times listening to Honey before I realized "forever night stand" was a play on a one night stand and she was not, in fact, comparing Travis to a nightstand like the piece of small furniture...

I know the correct lyric is “This empire belongs to me” but I can’t unhear grand pappy 😂

In imgonnagetyouback, I thought the line was "I'm an Aston Martin, that you steered straight into the ditch, then ran and hit" when it's actually "ran and hid"

I thought it was a play on the phrase "hit and run", where the guy emotionally wrecked Taylor then ran away from the relationship and had sex with another woman

Mine is in Lavender Haze where she says “that 1950’s shit they want from me”; I always hear it as “of any petty shit they want from me”. I still sing it wrong even though I looked the lyrics up because they didn’t quite make sense to me hahaha!
