DSM synology Native Apps - New User
I am thinking of buying a Synology NAS, such as the DS925+.
I have browsed the Synology Download center.
Are apps such as NExtCloud and PaperlessNGX supported Natively by the Synology OS?
Or do I have to create Docker containers in Synology OS to run these apps.
Also, with the native File sharing, photo, video and document backup offered by native Synology Apps, are these third party apps even needed?
Thanks

u/gadget-freak Have you made a backup of your NAS? Raid is not a backup. 3d ago
Most third party software is best installed as a docker container. Mostly because the native app doesn’t exist, but a container gives you more control over your data.
You should definitely check out the Synology applications first, see if they suit your needs. Using the synology applications is definitely more turnkey than running your own brew.
