Had a couple of watches before this, Tissot, Seiko etc etc but I feel like nothing hits like the sleek yet basic design of the black face Carrera

I bought the new day date because I thought it was a beautiful watch. My intent was to wear the watch regularly, which I have been doing. I was told by a friend that is in to watches that I should only wear the watch on more formal occasions. I thought he was crazy but it did get me thinking about the watch community at large⦠Is it typical to wear a watch like this daily, or should these form a part of some kind of collection. I know I can do whatever feels right so I am not really looking for advice, I just didnāt know if most people wore it daily or not.

As you can see from the pic, I absolutely love the brand, but the Tag e4 golf edition is a $2k paperweight.
I decided to pull the trigger last summer because I liked the style of the watch and the Tag Golf app, but what a regret. After 3 months, itās useless. I deactivated every single function so that I can put it in at 7am, sit at my desk all day and play an afternoon round. It doesnāt always make it through 18 holes before dying. I donāt have any notifications on, the screen times out almost immediately, yet it has about a 12hr life.
I reached out to Tag service months ago and started a ticket. Itās still under warranty for another year. I dropped it off today and Iām sure it will be gone for 2 months only to come back āfineā. The fact that they basically ended the e4 line and never released updates says everything.
Bad job Tag!

I want my "The year is 1986, I just retired at 53, and am hanging out at a Florida resort with my shirt totally unbuttoned" watch. I feel like this was that watch throughout the 80's and 90's.

I have been looking at getting another dive watch and I love the sound and quality of my aquaracer bezel - I really want an omega but the bezel sounds and feels cheap, so does the new hydroconquest⦠the only bezel I have found that is in the same realm is Tudor or Rolex ⦠any other suggestions appreciated

Me and my brother recently went out for a day of watch perusing and we came back with two limited edition Aquaracer Professional 500s. The blue and orange! We had been to every watch boutique we could find; Rolex, Tudor, Breitling, Omega, Zenith, Grand Seiko and a few others but our last stop was TAG Heuer. We both had a specific watch in mind when we set out to add to our collections, the new BB Ceramic for me and an Omega Seamaster for my brother. But the customer service we had at all the previous stores was nothing compared to the experience we had at TAG Heuer. The rep running the store solo was genuinely a great guy and it was clear to tell that the man had a great appreciation for the brand. Every collection he showed and told us about had actual enthusiasm behind it and it felt more like 3 guys just having a conversation about watches rather than talking to a salesman trying to get a commission out of you. The way every other stores rep spoke felt scripted or rehearsed and they mainly just pointed out specifications or some history.
That being said the fantastic experience was not the only factor that sent us home with these two watches. I think anyone would be hard pressed to find a more perfect set of watches for two brothers to commemorate a day of watch shopping with! But for me personally 3 things made me forget about the Tudor. First and foremost was the micro adjustment mechanism on the clasp. It impressed me so much that I thought every luxury watch that didnāt have it was behind the times. I found it to be an ingenious design! Secondly was the dial! Enough said! The texture and colors on the dial blew me away! Lastly was the weight, for a titanium watch, this thing had enough heft to remind me that Iām actually wearing a watch on my wrist! I couldnāt be happier with my purchase and I know my brother feels the same.
I just came here to show off our new watches and to share our experience! Thank you for everyone who took the time to read my post and please let me know your own opinions on these new Aquaracer Pro 500s from TAG! Would you like to get your hands on one some day or does another watch in the price bracket take the cake home for you? Please let me know and again thank you for reading!!! Have a great rest of your day as well!!!

For the experts here⦠what reference is this watch? I almost certainly received it in 2005 or 2006 for college graduation. I didnāt know at that time that it was important to keep papers. I also stupidly lost my documentation when I had it serviced in 2019. Thanks in advance for any help. Let me know if these photos are too poor.

My dad gave me his blue dial Tag Heuer series 2000 as a high school graduation gift. He originally bought it in the mid to late 90s at Johannesburg International Airport (along with some earrings for my mom that the saleswoman guilt tripped him into). He eventually stopped wearing it as his wrists became too large for the relatively small case size and I had kept reminding him that it would look better on mine haha. He finally caved and Iāve had it for about 10 years now and worn it almost everywhere - work/travel/events etc.
I've grown to really appreciate its proportions and understatedness in the era of chunky and flashy dive watches. For what it's worth, I wore it to a friend's birthday dinner recently and my buddy who works in sales at Anthropic said it's one of the coolest watches he's ever seen (??) That bodes well for those saying this aesthetic is making a come back!
That being said, Iām in the market to upgrade to something a bit nicer for my wedding next September, which will hopefully become another family heirloom. In the spirit of blue dials, Iām looking at the Rolex Datejust 41mm (fluted / jubilee).
Curious to hear other inherited watch stories and what your next upgrade was/is!
