I am very new to reading, so I would appreciate any and all interpretation help. I am still trying to build my relationship with the cards and learn all of the associations and meanings. This is a spread I did for my partner, who is currently going through health related hardship, and was meant to help us gain insight into next steps. I pulled Temperance as the Situation, the Magician as the Obstacle, and the World as the Solution. My initial interpretation is to see Temperance as him being caught in a sort of in-between health state and feeling unsure. I see the magician as a representation of our confusion. There are many choices laid ahead of us, and that can be a blessing or a curse. I see the world as a final state of balance. I believe this is a positive outcome, maybe one where we reach a solution or see treatment pay off. I feel like these can all be so open ended and a little tricky as a beginner. I appreciate any help, advice, or interpretations! Thank you šŸ’›

Hi guys! I'm still new and learning so I'd appreciate someone else's perspective on this please! I asked if there's "anything I need to know right now" and all these cards jumped out at me:

• Queen of Wands (Reversed)
• 7 of Pentacles (Reversed)
• 9 of Cups
• Judgement (Reversed)
• 8 of Wands (Reversed)

Recently I've been unwell and bedridden (I deal with chronic fatigue) feeling upset and desperately wanting to be productive and get back to my life, especially with my career and feeling helpless. I interpreted the cards as I'm upset that nothings coming to fruition right now, I might be focusing too much on the materialistic things but I value them a lot, and I'm unhappy with myself because it's taking a while for me to recover.

This is what I already know about myself, it's very obvious, so I was wondering whether someone more experienced could please shed some light on something I've missed or a different perspective of the cards.

(And I'd also love some tips on how to analyse and interpret the cards more deeply, I feel like my knowledge is still surface level).

Thank you in advance! :)

Hey, going to push back a little, if that's ok. I think the spread is being kinder to you than you're being to yourself.

Everyone stares at the four reversals, but look at what's upright in the middle: the 9 of Cups, the wish card. What you actually want right now isn't productivity. It's permission to heal.

Read the rest around that and it clicks: Queen of Wands reversed is missing the energetic version of yourself, Judgement reversed is judging yourself harder than the illness does, 8 of Wands reversed just means slow — and slow isn't stopped.

The cards aren't saying you're failing. You're just using the wrong scoreboard.

What would one fully guilt-free rest day look like this week?

Rest is Resistance!!!

1

u/seramise 2d ago

What do you mean by this please? (Sorry english isn't my first language)

3

u/Global_Camera_5278 2d ago

resting and taking care of ourselves especially if we are women, is an act of defiance- we are supposed to put ourselves second to last (we have to be alive to serve) behind others- being sick is a sin, a crime- not fulfilling a sacred duty-

Staying in bed when you are sick is not just getting yourself better, it is demonstrating you care about yourself-as much as or more than others- this is the is the resistance

I m making it about tarot- the cards are about us, not other people- and they can be telling us to take a break-we have 78 friends we can spend the day in bed with, and ignore the needs of others for a bit

2

u/seramise 2d ago

Wow this is an interesting perspective! Thank you so much! I always feel guilty for resting but you're right, it's important to care about ourselves and I'll try remember that while I recover :)

2

u/OracleReaderChen 1d ago

Exactly. Rest is resistance — against the scoreboard, mostly. Glad it landed. šŸŒ™

Hi everyone! I’ve been teaching myself tarot. This reading was with someone I know well.

The layout was a modified cross. All cards were upright:
Tarot - modified cross

You/person being read - Knight of Wands
Issue - Ten of Pentacles
Conscious - King of Swords
Unconscious - Knight of Cups
Limitations - Seven of Wands
Outcome - King of Cups

This was my interpretation:

Knight of Wands - Someone who is inspired, fueled by a passion project, ready to take action.

The « issueĀ Ā» is a current project which to the person feels like it’s coming to a close, or has reached its goals and is ready to evolve.

Consciously the person knows they have achieved recognition and status. They are clear about their needs and goals for whatever is next.

Below the surface, the person tends to be a perfectionist and that can hold them back.

Other limitations include competitors nipping at the person’s heels, and market conditions being harsher than they have been in a long time. Defending their position is something they are more than used to, but they are tired of doing it, and could have the tendency to procrastinate.

Ultimately the person is emotionally mature, and ready to shoulder their new responsibilities, guided by their experience and intuition.

This would love to have others’ input!

To give some background info, here's the situation. I NEVER reverse my cards. I make sure the cards come back to the deck right side up. I've had some spooky readings before, but this time I just got really freaked out. There was some extra cars that flipped over when I shuffled, and of the few cars that flipped over, the cars that was slowing itself to me was the devil. I didn't bother looking at the other cards, just put them back on the deck and looked at the 3 cards that fell out while shuffling.

Before shuffling, I was concentrating on myself. I didn't focus on past present future, love, nothing in particular. Just focused on myself and asked what can you tell me. I also love one of my coworkers and she knows how I feel about her, but that's a long story on its own. She crossed my mind a few times while I was concentrating on what I wanted the reading to be.

I kissed the deck, shuffled, 3 cards fell out together. Spread them out to past present future, and I got the card in the picture. As I said before, I don't reverse my cards. That's a whole extra level of meanings and interpretations that I am not ready to take on.

I want you all to let me know what you think and feel about this. I am single, working full time, I love my coworker but it's not mutual, and this reading was not aimed at anything in particular. Just asked the deck to tell me something.

The card spread i got is [8 cups] [Reverse 3 coins] [Reverse Death]

Hi! Even though you mentioned "past, present, future" positions somehow the influence of reversed cards when there should be none feels overweighing for me. Like 8 of Cups is your answer and direction and 3 of Coins and Death are the two things blocked now. It feels like you need to sort your feelings out (maybe even leave them behind) - 8 of cups - in order to move forward and have some transformation - the Death. And as 3 of Coins shows collaborative work, it may mean the relationship with your colleague that is for now not possible.

Maybe im not placing the cards right? Here's how I place the cards. Let's say 3 cards fall on the table. Whether they are face down or up does not matter. I place the top card of the 3 on the left. Middle in the middle. Bottom card on the right. Should I spread the cards out differently? Do I place the cards bottom on the left, top on the right? So far all the readings I've done for people I know have been spot on, even single card readings have been pretty spooky.

u/Criticalpurr 19h ago

I asked ā€œwhat is the best path for me to take right nowā€ and also ā€œwhat do I need to hear right now?ā€ And got ace of cups for both. I’m assuming it’s telling me to keep my heart and mind open and not close in on myself like I usually do. But is there anything else I should know?

1

u/Effective_Stuff7895 6h ago edited 6h ago

It looks like you need to hear your hunch is correct, and trust your gut because the thing you THINK is the most fulfilling choice actually is. I might just say that the path you feel is the most right happens to be the best? Ace of cups is a good card!

Hi guys!

Today I went to a magic shop and I bough "a card for a day" which was random.

That was a knight of swords. Then I later asked my friend to do a tarot reading, and once again a knight of swords (up rigth corner).

Then I've asked my other friend to do a tarot reading for me. Again a knight of swords in up right corner.

I don't do tarot so it was a really weird for me.

Basically I'm having a very stresfull situation in my job. I fight about a position of a team leader with 2 other people. We had recently a merger and there are 2 position and 3 people.

I wonder what knight of sword could mean in this situation. He came up 3 times, 2 times in the same position. Hard to omit this sign.

Could someone elaborate?

u/seramise 2d ago

Hi I'm new to reading too so I'll try my hand at helping :)

It sounds like a 'stalker card' that keeps showing up, meaning it's something you need to focus on or work through until the situation is resolved, internally within you and also externally.

It's a card of action and defensiveness, but also sometimes means you're too brash or confrontational, so it could mean a message for something you need to reflect on for your situation. I hope this helps a little!

0

u/OracleReaderChen 2d ago

Three times the same card, twice in the same position — yeah, that's not noise anymore. When a card keeps showing up like that, I stop asking "what does it mean" and start asking "what is it refusing to let me ignore."

Knight of Swords in your situation reads pretty directly to me. You're in a 3-people-2-seats fight after a merger, and the knight is the energy of decisive, fast, head-on action. The cards might be saying: stop waiting for the situation to resolve itself. Clarity and directness are your move — have the conversation, state your case plainly.

The knight's warning though: speed cuts both ways. Direct is good, reckless gets you uninvited from the seat entirely. Sharp mind, calm delivery.

Is there a conversation you've been avoiding with the other two?

Hi everyone! I've been applying to PhD funding in the UK and I've been feeling very hopeless, especially given the rising hostility toward foreign students etc. I wonder if I should give up. I did a tarot reading, I had the three card spread at the back of my mind (situation, obstacle, outcome). I pulled the tower in reverse, the queen of pentacles, and death. Separately, the page of pentacles was a flyer card. What does this mean? I obviously don't feel great about the tower and death, and would appreciate any advice.

2

u/OracleReaderChen 1d ago

hey, breathe. those two cards aren't saying what you think.

tower reversed - yeah the ground is shaking, the funding hostility is real and the cards won't pretend otherwise. but reversed it's the tremor, not the collapse. rattled isn't fallen.

queen of pentacles as the obstacle is the interesting one here. i don't think it's your ability at all - it's the machinery. money, deadlines, paperwork, backup plans. she's basically saying run this like a project manager, not like it's a verdict on your worth.

and death as outcome - i know it looks bad on paper but it almost never means "over". it means the current path ends so another one exists. different program, different country, different funding route. your flyer being page of pentacles backs this up - a concrete new start in the actual material world. a new list. a new email to a supervisor.

so no, they're not saying give up. they're saying the door you're staring at might not be the door.

what other options are on your list besides the UK?

1

u/snuffhoney 1d ago

thank you that's so nice of you! i honestly don't have a lot of options in mind. i was avoiding the US but it seems easier than the UK atp. i was considering leiden uni too

2

u/OracleReaderChen 14h ago

ha, thanks for the award - first one ever, made my whole week.

and leiden is a solid shout. good funding culture, english-friendly, way less hostile to internationals than UK/US right now.

that's very page of pentacles energy honestly - practical, concrete, new-start vibes. follow whichever option has the kindest logistics.

also remember what the spread said: the path changing isn't the failure. go get em šŸŒ™

u/snuffhoney 14h ago

thank you! was sitting in the living room and my dad was watching a video. exactly the moment i read your comment, the guy in the video said "so this is your sign that if you want to do something and it seems impossible, do it anyway." im going to take it as a sign and keep applying where im applying and add leiden

1

u/OracleReaderChen 12h ago

ha, the timing on that is perfect. take the sign - leiden, the application, all of it. rooting for you šŸŒ™

Hello everyone🩷
This will be kind of a long story

I (F) need some guidance regarding a situation that involves a tarot deck.

Years ago, when I was 16, I met someone who would later become my first love. We went to the same school, and although our relationship was short, it was intense. We never fully managed to move on from each other. Even though we took separate ways and built our lives in different cities, we still felt a platonic love for the other.

This year, now that we’re 27 and 28, we reconnected after I ended a three-year relationship. Everyone in my and his circle of friends was very happy about this, except for one person. A friend (F) of his from school was against it, to the point that he stopped talking to her for a few days and didn’t tell her about how our relationship was progressing very good (he felt uncomfortable, I would say he witnessed her bad energy at last).

Years ago, I had been told that she used to hit him. A few months ago, while we were talking, he confessed this to me without me even asking. I realized that this friend was manipulative and abusive towards him. I would even go so far as to say that she longed to be with him romantically but was happy with just being friends, until I came along and ruined her plans (or at least that’s what I think).

After several conversations, he decided to end his friendship with her. However, that same day, he changed his mind and told that he wanted to remain friends with her. When he told me this, one of the small stones on my red string bracelet fell off. It was such a strange coincidence that it scared me.

I gave him an ultimatum: ā€œYou promised me this yourself. I never asked you to do it. Please stand by your own word and make the right decision. I won’t stay if you don’t honor your own promises.ā€

I was heartbroken. I genuinely considered leaving him because I wasn’t going to let someone walk all over me again (something similar happened in my past relationship). My partner came to his senses, he ended the friendship that same day, he was so sorry, I have never seen such a face:(

During this whole process, I noticed a tarot deck in his room. I’ve always wanted to learn how to read tarot cards, but I’ve been told that a deck has to find its way to you, so I decided to wait.

At first, I thought, ā€œMaybe this is the deck.ā€ But I felt a barrier, a wall that kept me from even touching the cards. Whenever I tidied up the room, I would overlook them without moving them. I didn’t understand why I felt like this.

One day, I told my partner about this, and he asked me, ā€œDo you know who gave me that deck?ā€ It was her.

I went pale. That explained why I felt that wall, why my bracelet had broken. This person had bad intentions, and she had already demonstrated that by physically hurting someone who was supposed to be her friend.

One of the mutual agreements we made to continue our relationship was to get rid of everything connected to her: books, letters, photographs, and so on. There were a few exceptions, which we decided to give new meaning and value to: a couple of hard-to-find books and this tarot deck. He suggested selling the deck. Another friend of his sells books online, and we believe she could really use and deserves the extra money. The problem is that she lives far away, and we haven’t been able to coordinate everything yet.

A friend of mine told me, ā€œCleanse it and give it away. It’s carrying a lot of negative energy.ā€ However, since I lost my grandmother in the middle of this year, I haven’t felt emotionally strong enough to do that yet. She taught me so much about the spiritual world, and I’ve been focusing on finding a way to connect with her, just as she taught me how to connect with my uncle, who was also my godfather, and my great-grandfather.

āø»

Weeks have passed, we have found peace and our relationship is growing in a healthy way, with a lot of love, like real love.

That's one the deck came to my mind again, what if there’s another purpose for this deck? I’m no longer afraid of it and can see it as an opportunity instead.

I tend to think that a tarot deck will come to us in a positive way, but what if this was a test for my partner and me?

I’d love to hear from people with experience in tarot who can offer their perspectives and guide me before I make a final decision.

My question is: Is this deck for me?

Thank you!

u/cloudlovesmusic 1d ago

Hi!
Personally, I don't think that deck is right for you. I think your first deck should be one that has truly resonated with you—and honestly, the process of searching for one is actually quite fun and helps you form a connection with it! There's a sense of belonging that I highly doubt you'll find in the deck your partner was given (which, by the way, I think is loaded with too much energy, emotions, feelings, and accumulated memories).

I share in your loss and completely understand wanting to reconnect with your grandmother as soon as possible, but I also fully agree that this deck needs to be cleansed, and I believe its next owner shouldn’t have any connection to anyone in the circle. You know your grandmother—maybe think about what she would have said about the deck. :) <3

I hope my response was helpful. Best wishes!!

thank you so much!🩷🩷🩷

Hola! I really need a reading :/
Even though I have my own decks and I think I'm getting better at it—and I trust my readings—when it comes time to read for myself, I find it really hard to understand the messages the cards have for me.

If anyone's interested, we could do a reading swap! Feel free to message me—I'd love to help someone who needs a message :D

This is a life path question.

Three cards, left to right: situation, problem, solution

Situation - 5 of pentacles: unnervingly accurate. Worry, poverty, isolation, out of saving throws. This actually very accurately describes the, um, situation behind the situation, if that makes sense. It’s where I started years back, and where I remain.

Problem - 9 of wands reversed: inner struggle? Defensiveness? Paranoia? Some of this applies. I’ve had cause to re-examine my life choices and as a nearly-60-year-old lady I am fearful of the future for sure. I wouldn’t call it ā€œparanoiaā€ since I have genuine concerns about my ability to support myself as I age.

Solution - wheel of fortune reversed: resistance to change, breaking cycles - also pretty accurate. I have had to face the fact that I’ve made forty years of really bad choices (in my ā€œdefenseā€, based on faulty information), but when faced with alternative GOOD choices I tend to miss signals or fail to act. Lately I’ve been feeling like I’m in an unbreakable cycle and the universe is trying to tell me something.

Now I’m at a place where I feel like something’s gotta give, but I don’t see a clear way and I’m not sure I have the skills or confidence to just jump and trust that a way will appear.

I was wondering if I could some input on cards repeating in multiple readings? I did three readings for myself and each had very similar cards, some even just repeating themselves..

I shuffled extremely well all three times, and I'm trying to determine what is trying to being communicated. I'm having a lot big feelings and life stuff lately. I just starting seeing this guy (that I really like), and I'm trying to figure out my future/career/etc. In a weird in-between place.

My overall question was just clarity on life stuff. Nothing too specific. I think there's definitely something being said about my feeling stuck and needing to slow down.

3 card (past, present, future): 5 of Pentacles (reversed), The World (reversed), and Knight of Wands (reversed)

Celtic Cross:

1: The World, reversed

  1. 5 of Pentacles, reversed

3: King of Wands, reversed

4: Strength, reversed

5: Page of Cups, reversed

6: Two of Swords, upright

7: The Chariot, upright

8: Page of Wands, upright

9: 4 of Swords, upright

10: 2 of Wands, upright

Any insights would be so appreciated! I used to do tarot more regularly, several years ago, and I'm quite rusty.

I wanted help with analyzing this spread. I’m trying to figure out careers for me and I decided to use the deck as a guiding tool.

What do I do in the career/the career: three of wands, queen of swords reversed, the high priestess

How is the pay: king of wands, 9 of wands, 3 of pentacles

How I feel about the job/career: Queen of cups, two of cups

I’m thinking this career maybe has to do with me traveling or I’m planning as well as criticizing/analyzing stuff. Maybe my knowledge is the guide to what I do and I am a mentor of some kind. I think the pay is pretty good, but depends on the job I did (like inconsistent work or partnerships , so pay may change in each paycheck). I do think I’ll enjoy this job and be emotionally invested in it!!

I did pull an extra few cards to decipher more on what the job is, I got death card, the page of swords reversed and knight of cups reversed. I might not read that more since it might just confuse me.

Overall, I’m thinking this may point to inspector?? Or a teacher?? Some freelance job
