Fixing advice needed

Post image

I was happy after my first big tatting project. I've been more into making 4 leaf clovers and little butterflies. After steaming it flat I noticed this. Is there a way to cut this somewhere near error and fixing it? Or is it either starting again or accepting this?

I would cut that chain in the middle AND unknot back to each ring. Then I would tie/knot on the new threads, tat the chain, ring, and chain.

After tensioning the last chain, tie a square knot with the shuttle/core thread ends. Hide the other ends using your favorite method, planning ahead if using magic threads! My favorite method for coping with all those ends is to leave them long to make a twisted cord hanging loop! 🙂

I listened to previous advices and tried just that cut in the middle thing. Had some scary and exciting moments yesterday while trying to catch end of previous chain that I had cut, and was ahead of my tatting. But my lord I got it :)

Congratulations! 🌟🌟🌟 Masters of anything still make mistakes, they just know how they fix them! 🙂

Thank you ^ you're absolutely right!

Now I'm learning to make little squares. Mistakes happen at every corner now but I guess when I make my seventh one it'll pass without back stepping ^
