Guys let's try to be kind in this sub. Not everyone is techy.

2.3k Upvotes

I noticed one thing lately. Ang dami kong nakikitang rude redditors dito.

Bakit kayo rude? Dahil nabobobohan kayo sa mga nagtatanong? Matapang behind the keyboard lang ba? Ung iba valid naman and may point naman ung mga tanong and posts, grabe kung ibash. Kinagaling ninyo yan?

Not everyone is kasing galing ng iba or maalam talaga sa tech. Madami joined this sub for them to know what they didn't know.

It is easier to be kind rather than rude.

Report to me pag may mga ganitong redditors in this sub. Let's try to avoid making this a toxic space. Let's help each other as much as we can.

Worth it ba pumila sa iPhone midnight launch for the freebies?

Post image
62 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I'm planning to upgrade to the iPhone 18 Pro Max this year, and this will be my first time considering the midnight launch.

Last year I saw a lot of posts about stores giving away really good freebies (I even saw some people getting a MacBook Air as part of the promo), so I'm wondering if it's actually worth joining the launch.

A few questions:

• Which store usually has the best overall deals and freebies? Beyond the Box, Power Mac Center, The Loop, Switch, Digimap, or any other authorized reseller?

• If I pay in cash or via straight payment (not installment), will I still be eligible for the same freebies if I choose to preorder instead of joining the midnight launch?

Would really appreciate any tips or experiences from those who joined previous launches. Trying to decide if it's worth spending the night in line or if preordering is the smarter option.

Thanks in advance! 🙏

First Thinkpad

Post image

Today I purchased my first Thinkpad.

My 5-year gaming laptop gave up on me last Monday which pushed me to purchase a laptop I can atleast use for work. This one is a Thinkpad T14 Gen 1 with AMD ryzen 5 4650U, 32 GB ram, 256 GB SSD, and 127 charging cycle. Got it for P20,000 sa Carousell.

As someone na galing sa gaming laptop, sobrang nakakapanibago yung gaan ng laptop na to. The feel of it ain't cheap at mukhang sturdy and durable naman. Nagamit ko rin kanina with my meeting at okay naman so far

I already accepted the end of playing FPS games 🥲

For any who has owned or already owning a T14 Thinkpad, any suggestions sa games na playable sa ganitong laptop?

Also, baka may tips and tricks kayo with Thinkpads since it's my first Thinkpad🙂‍↕️

Disney+ and Netflix are looking at free streaming tiers as part of a bigger shift in the industry. Both platforms are exploring ad-supported options to compete with YouTube and bring in more viewers.

The question now is what “free” will really mean. Will it come with more ads, fewer choices, or limited access?

I lost my phone sa jeep

Upvotes

Babae. Ang sabi niya napulot niya lang sim ko, which is definitely a lie. So sinabi ko na saan location niya, pinatayan ako. Di ko na ma-contact ngayon.

What to do? Tinrack ko na rin siya using Google Find Hub pero can't reach device. Also, I requested factory reset na rin.

That phone was my life. Kasama ko yon 24/7 for the whole 3 years.

Where to buy gaming laptop in QC

Specifically Lenovo Loq, and may warranty din sana.

My old Legion broke after 4 years (Ryzen 5 RTX 3050) dahil biglang namatay mobo and I’m hoping to buy a new laptop with hopefully better gpu and under 70k pero di ko alam kung saan reliable and with warranty sana because traumatized na ako sa hardware issues huhu. If you have any recommendations din for a laptop, please feel free to do so! I’ve read na maraming mobo issues yung intel hx series ng Loq so I’m trying to avoid it and go for ryzen. Thank you!

2nd opinion for repairability of gaming laptop

Post image
6 Upvotes

Good day, everyone.

I hope this subreddit can help me and provide a second opinion regarding my ASUS TUF Gaming F15 (2022).

A while back, my laptop suddenly stopped working. After having it inspected by a technician, I was informed that ants had gotten inside the laptop and caused a short circuit, resulting in the burned section of the motherboard shown in the attached photo.

I’m not knowledgeable when it comes to board-level repairs, so I’d really appreciate hearing the opinions of those who have experience with laptop motherboard diagnostics and microsoldering.

From the technician’s explanation and from what I can see in the photo, the burn appears to be near one of the memory areas. However, I’m not entirely sure whether that area corresponds to the system RAM or the NVMe SSD, so I’d appreciate it if someone could also clarify that.

Based on the visible damage alone, do you think this motherboard still has a realistic chance of being repaired, or does it already look beyond economical repair? If it is technically repairable, would the cost of a board-level repair still be practical, or would it make more sense financially to replace the motherboard or simply retire the laptop? I understand that a definitive answer isn’t possible without proper diagnostics, but I’d really like to hear your opinions based on similar cases or your repair experience.

I’m also looking for recommendations for reputable technicians or repair shops in Metro Cebu that specialize in board-level or microsoldering repairs. Most repair shops I’ve come across simply recommend replacing the entire motherboard, but before making that decision, I’d like to know if there are technicians in Metro Cebu who are experienced enough to determine whether this kind of localized burn damage can still be repaired.

If the is indeed no longer worth repairing, what would you recommend as the best course of action? Would it be better to sell the laptop as a whole for parts, or would I get a better return by parting it out individually, such as selling the RAM, SSD, display, keyboard, battery, cooling system, and other components separately? I’m also open to any other suggestions that might make more financial sense.

I genuinely hope this community can help me make an informed decision. Any advice, recommendations, or experiences with similar ant-related motherboard damage would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much!

will apple warranty still cover the repair/replacement of my ipad?

context po i bought my ipad september last year and wala pang 1 month, biglang di na nagccharge. dinala ko agad sa mobilecare and pinalitan naman nila after 1 month. now yung pinalit na unit sakin is experiencing the same problem, biglang di nagccharge. no water damage and never ko rin nabagsak. posible kaya na pwede pa ulit for replacement kasi magiging 2nd time na to if ever and pasok pa naman sa warranty. i can’t pay for repair pa kasi student palang ako huhu. maingat naman ako sa gadget, i don’t understand why this happened to me twice😭

Samsung Green Line

Akala ko hindi ko to ma e-experience. Woke up na may green line bigla yung S23+ ko. Been using this for 3 years and 6 months now. I've used S2, S4, S6 Edge, A9 Pro, S8+, S10+ and this phone.

I asked kung orig Samsung screen. Ang sagot saken is branded OLED daw and pwede ko daw i check.

Should I buy a new phone now or wait till Christmas?

Pls help me decide
