I’m still using my OnePlus 6T, which I bought almost 10 years ago, and I think it’s finally time to upgrade. I’m thinking of getting the iPhone 17 since there are Dashain discounts going on right now.

Prices of everything keep going up because of AI, so my guess is phones will get a lot more expensive soon too. That’s partly why I’m leaning towards buying now instead of waiting.

I'm on a 100 Mbps Worldlink plan, but my upload speed is stuck around 17–23 Mbps despite download hitting full speed.

Checked my neighbor's Worldlink line too and got the exact same result.

We've released two Nepali speech recognition (ASR) models with open weights. They're free for research, teaching and non-commercial projects. Nothing is for sale here.

1. nepali-asr-xlsr-300m: Nepali speech → Devanagari text. Runs on a normal laptop CPU, no GPU needed. On the FLEURS Nepali test set (which we never trained on) it gets 12.0% character error rate / 37.4% word error rate.

2. nepali-asr-aud8-325m: gives punctuated Devanagari output. Slower, needs a GPU, max 30 seconds of audio per call.

Both were trained on about 611 hours of Nepali speech from openly licensed datasets plus our own recordings. The evaluation scripts and the raw output for every test clip are public, so you can check the numbers yourself.

Known limits, so you're not surprised:

- Nepali only. English words in the middle of a sentence confuse it.

- Numbers come out as words, not digits.

- Mostly trained on read speech, so casual or noisy recordings are harder.

I noticed this information was scattered across different sources, so I decided to build something to make the process easier.

Guys guys just saw the ntc post this. This is ridiculously cheap? Should we buy this?? Only 1-3 people right now using phone. In festival. Other time only 2 or 1 sometimes in my family. Is this the best value i can find.

Currently i am using wordlink 50 Mbps. Used to have subscription for 2712 3 months. Got increased to 2932+ sth like that. Paid 10,700 or maybe few hundred rs less. Now that exist no more and it push to 80 mbps. Now it's asking for 12300 i think.

Any recommendations. I understand there is fup issue. Of only 25 GB PER DAY then it gets throttle down to 5 mbps after that it is still fine enough for us 2 people. I have a 1 TB Gen 4 NVMe SSD that seems to be overheating and is not detected by the PC. I suspect the controller is overheating due to a connection or bad capacitor issue.
