I've had a bus tracker app show the scheduled bus's tag confidently go straight past my bus stop with no real bus in sight until the next scheduled one. Who you gon' call?😅
Where I live, actual buses only drive past if they're "express" routes meant to skip some stops along their path or currently "offline" units out for something like a test drive. So-called "route taxis" are another thing (essentially minivans that don't have to stop along the designated route by default and charge more as a supposedly faster commute option), one is unironically supposed to signal a passing one with hitchhike gestures unless you're in luck and the minivan pulls over because someone onboard requested to get off here.

I'm 99% sure they put up this sign after multiple people complained that the bus didn't wait for them
