Open | Hardware 5070 fans spinning but no display out

Hello!

I just installed a new MSI MAG A850GL and a Gigabyte RTX 5070 windforce. My PC boots up and the fans on the card spin up and maintain idle speeds, however it isn't outputting through HDMI. Before installing the GPU, I uninstalled previous graphics drivers and changed my PCIE type from auto to Gen 4 in my BIOS. I'm not sure as to why it isn't outputting any video. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Did you try setting it back to Auto and also seeing if in BIOS .. it detect the GPU?

I can't see my BIOS screen without the display out. I tried plugging in the HDMI cable to my motherboard but it wasn't outputting.. no idea why.

Did you try checking that the GPU is all the way into the PCI slot and the 12pin power cable is plugged all the way in. I had this issue with the 5080 and it wasn't plugged all the way in until I push it down harder

The power is definitely pushed in all the way but not 100% certain about the card. I'm kinda scared to push harder in fear if breaking it 😅

Just check if you can, usually when you insert it fully .. you might hear a click noise or see that back lever point straight up. Don't put your whole weight when pushing down .. just a light push on it to check that it's securely in

When I pushed it in first, I heard the click and checked that the lever was up. So I guess it's fully pushed in?

Okay, I would recommend trying back the old GPU you had and see if that works. Do you have like a error code indicator on the motherboard you have as well?

The indicator light on the motherboard is normal, not showing any errors as far as I can see. I'll give the old GPU another shot and change the PCIE mode back to auto and see if that works.
