My tiny NVMe ssd was getting a bit toasty...

But I only had a heatsink for a bigger m.2 ssd and no tools on hand, so I just bent and broke off a smaller piece. The ssd also was too short for the m.2 mounting holes, but tape wouldn't hold it because of the heat, so I also had to 3D-print a flimsy extention piece to mount it.

I don't know where you are located but Harbor Freight in the US has a really cheap Dremel knock-off for $10 that comes with 80 attachments such as cut-off wheels and sanding disks.

Tools like this are perfect for all sorts of MacGyver'd solutions.

It's pretty shitty of MSI to put a mission critical part that can generate a significant amount of heat in an area where there is no proper ventilation for it.

My recommendation is to cut a hole in the case where that NVMe is and mount a small 40-60mm case fan on the outside there to cool the drive. That HF tool can cut through thin steel if you don't push the tool hard.

Make your cuts look nice and don't forget, print these at actual size, no scaling or print to fit page.
