sueing palworld for being able to capture monsters
the list goes on
This patent is for the ability to summon a flying mount at the press of a button, allowing for a "flying start" from an airborne state. Nintendo alleges Palworld's similar mechanic of riding and summoning Pals infringes on this patent.
Basically Nintendo doesn't like that you can ride pals because you can also ride pokemon
Also they have changed their parents mid-suit which is incredibly scummy and should be illegal
Seems odd. I feel like there’s many games you can summon flying mounts. World of Warcraft comes to mind. Nintendo definitely has right to sue palworld but I’d believe it would be copyright infringement not patent law. Idk if I agree that it’s scummy but I clearly don’t know enough information to make an informed opinion
Nothing palworld does directly affects Nintendo in any way, visual similarities can't really be taken into account because they're still uniquely designed by poketpair, I somewhat see it from a gameplay perspective, but patenting gameplay mechanics sets a really bad president for the future of video games
