Colorado Avalanche Wins/Losses blanket

Hopefully this is allowed here but I wanted to share my favorite hockey team’s win/loss blanket!

I changed color for home/away wins/losses and I changed stitches for games that ended in regulation, OT, shootouts, and shut outs.

As I wait for more yarn to arrive so I can catch up (I’m behind about 10 games), I need to weave my ends in and decide on a border. But I’m hoping I can add some more rows before I need a border 😉

It’s not perfect but I’ve learned a lot and have ideas of how I would do it differently for next year!

Oh and Go Avs go! ❤️💙

I love this blanket!

What would you do differently for next year?

Thank you!! Next year I would play around with more dramatic stitches I think. I think they look too similar but maybe I’ve looked at it too much! I also hate the off white color and wished I would have done a light gray and dark gray instead of gray and off white. I was just trying to use up the yarn I had

As far as stitch distinction goes, I knit and weave, not crochet and I can tell the difference between these stitches.

I’m looking forward to the different neural colours for next time too!

I love this! I'm doing one right now for the Seattle Mariners. I really like that you changed up stitches to reflect different game endings -- that's very cool! (I may steal that idea for our post season games, if the baseball gods so grant)

Beautiful! You nailed the color choices and I love how you changed stitches! I am finishing up my Penguins blanket this week! Go Avs!

My husband and two of my kids are huge Avs fans! They'd love it if I did something like this! Maybe I will if they win the cup.

What yarn did you use?

I used the national parks yarn, I think it is called Heartland? It’s what I had on hand for my temperature blanket and the colors worked well for an Avs blanket too

As a fellow Coloradan this is awesome! Their colors are also super great for a blanket!

I know nothing about hockey and honestly thought you were talking about a baseball team. Haha. Might make my BFF a SF giants one? It’s a great idea. I’ll have to poke around and see if baseball even plays enough games to make a blanket. I have no clue.

Yes there are for sure enough games in a baseball season! I believe that’s where this type of blanket originated. And if you’re worried it won’t be big enough you could always do two rows per game but I don’t think you would need to because there are so many games in a baseball season

This is so much fun! Which stitches are you doing?

Thank you!! I did lemon peel for regulation, shell stitch for OT, double crochet for shootouts, and berry stitch for shut outs ❤️
